I am getting very jealous of all this talk of Pistonfest, I may just have to come back early from the stag do.

You'll know you'll regret it if you don'tcome.

Think how much you'll miss being able to join in the banter following Pistonfest. The forums will be filled with "did you see", "do you remember" etc

If we can get you to come along we'll also be able to post "OMG did you hear...."

Come, you know you want to.

Count myself and walking hormone in. No sat nav or decent map reading skills though. We will be playing 'follow the leader'

May I ask where Wooley Edge is?

It suddenly dawned on me that the Marlin doesn't like traffic. The unleaded conversion means it runs hotter, the radiator isn't the best and it needs the pressure of air made by driving to keep cool (ask the MOC for advice and they said "don't drive it on hot days" ) so I'll be trying to miss the heavier traffic on the motorways. That is of course assuming I get to bring it.

Does anyone know how long it would take to get to Wooley Edge (where ever it is) from Newcastle? Would you mind leaving slightly later? If autoroute is right it's about 120 miles South of me. I'm hoping tvrBob, WildfireS3 and anyone else will join us going down as well.

You cheeky chaps. I'll remember to eat my spinach on the Friday morning to ensure I can bump start your Griff Mr. Al (aka Mrs. Nora).

Regards the Boxster; they seem a nice car and very well put together.

Looking forward to PF, hooray

Wolley services are between J39 and J38 of the M1 near Wakefield. The drive down for you would be simple; A1 southbound then jump on the M1 southbound (just south of Leeds) for 10 mins and you're there. I reckon 1.5 to 2 hours for you to get down here.

Hope you can make it.

Autoroute was right then, is the car-park just off the M1 or is it a service area? And are you meeting at 11, or leaving?

Yes it is proper service station; it has a petrol station, over-priced shop, Costa(lot) Coffee and of course a Burglar King.

As you drive into the service area look left and you'll see the Travelodge. We usually park in the area immediately infront of it.

I guess the trip down will take you a couple of hours, personally I prefer the A19 to the A1, I find there are fewer HGV's.
