Lucas starter refurb in Yorkshire
Discussion
Collinson & Stelling www.collinsonandstelling.co.uk/ in Castleford have done this sort of work for donkey`s years & can sort out anything. Some of the starters in there are as big as a waste bin!

Where are you? Yorkshires pretty big. I had a guy in Doncaster do my starter.
Who does yours mate?http://m.192.com/atoz/business/doncaster-dn1/engin...
It was £45 and looks and works like a brand new one. 18 months later and its still spot on.

Lenton and smithson Harrogate-01423 501966
Based on Richard's recommendation I have just used Lenton & Smithson for a rebuild of the starter on one of my old cars.Absolutely spanking job. I had it fully rebuilt with new brushes and bearings plus a new solenoid (which wasn't easy to source). All in £93, turned around in about 3 days. Lovely lick of paint on it now too.
