Today's drive to Tan Hill was OK...

Yep, good run out thanks John, if a little late in the day
Chris turns up fashionably late
Nice morning for a run.
Past Ribblehead - great road.
Tea stop in Hawes.
The last time I took this shot I had six more cylinders and a shed load more horse power behind my driver's seat!
The highest pub in England... was shut.

I think the car having the most fun on these rods was the Lupo! The Lamborghinis had given up by this point.

Dunno about that, but it wasn't a bad morning.

How do I get involved in one of these?
Keep an eye out for the posts in here really, they aren't regular and tends to just be someone saying 'Come join for a drive' and people say they'll come..You don't have to know anyone in person, or as a 'internet friend', just wait for one of these drives to be arranged and tag along, that's what I did and now know a few of the guys. There are some drives that get arranged outside of PH for various reasons, but the closed private invite drives that then get publicly talked about afterwards are a bit petty. The variety of cars is usually great, I've been in all sorts of stuff and can usually be found attached to a rear bumper somewhere

Cheers, will keep my eyes peeled. I'm 32 and not a knob, if that helps?
Jay, I don't mean to be blunt, but I suspected you were going to say that. You have been a member of PH for over six years and you have not met one single person? In that time there will have been at least fifty or more events that you could have taken part in.
And Tom, I believe you have been on a few of these off forum runs. I'm sorry that you think John posting a thread about Sunday's drive out was petty. When you asked about it off forum, I could not extend an invite as it was not my run, or my place to do so.

Sundays drive was arranged via another forum, and I've been on enough hoons to realise there are some proper feckwits about and it's a good idea to know who you are out with. And Tom, I believe you have been on a few of these off forum runs. Yep I've been on a few, my point was more to do with that if this chap hasn't met anyone, it's hardly fair to state that's a reason not to come, I hadn't/no one else had met anyone on here until they first met them...And I wasn't saying Johns post was petty, I'm talking about when someone posts a thread saying 'Drive this Sunday, PM for invite' which is then a scrutinised process to establish worthiness, just sort of excludes people which I don't feel is the point of a friendly forum And Tom, I believe you have been on a few of these off forum runs. Personally I have never seen a post like this. They are all, certainly mine, either posted openly with, granted a cut-off number of cars, or organised off forum. There are sadly, some people on PH that are simply too "enthusiastic" to drive with. Hence more and more drives are arranged quietly.

With all due respect, I haven't actively looked for drives on PH over the last few years as I was happy enough going places on my own or in clubs I used to belong to. I miss the social aspect of going out driving with others, hence my expressing interest in doing so And Tom, I believe you have been on a few of these off forum runs. Length of time on a forum isn't really a measuring stick for how many people you should have met in person. Everybody is different and it simply doesn't work like that. If I'm guilty of anything, it's probably that I'm a bit shy with people I don't know initially and I've not made the effort to get involved in these things in the past because of that.
I can only say, it is worth making the effort. PHers are mostly a good and welcoming bunch. I have met a lot of very good personal friends in the past eleven years or so on here, been to parties, weddings, member's houses across Europe and all sorts of other memorable events that I wouldn't have missed for the World.
Oh, and we've had a hell of a lot of road trips :-)
