Hey,

If you are officially coming along mate please add your name to the list so we know.

Yes my folks own a Fiesta ZS they allowed me to store my car down there whilst I was doing some work top it, you aren't the person that stole the intercooler off of it whilst it was there are you? The week before I moved it back to town some monkey had stolen the intercooler.
I'm not but im almost certain I know who it was, his corsa turbo has since been sold though frown

As long as people are driving sensibly, that doesn't matter

Here is the list so far:

Date: Saturday 2nd June.

We have two suggested routes and I'd like to know which one people would prefer to do.

Route A:
Aberdeen -> Banchory -> Ballater -> Strathdon -> Aberdeen

Route B:
Plenty space in the car park to meet at Makro, run out the South Deeside road all the way to Ballater. There's a lay-by just West of Ballater that would make a good stopping point to allow a re-group. From there up to the Lecht Ski Centre, again, good open road, and plenty space to stop for a chat, allow eveyone to catch up, before heading back through some country roads to Tarland and on to Tesco Westhill for the finishing point (or somewhere else around there with enough space). (Thanks to martinj46 for this suggestion)

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Makro,+Aberdee...

People attending (please add your name):

1: Allan (Yanayaya) - Cavalier Turbo 4x4

10: Jeremy (Jayho) - Suzuki ignis sport if I can make it.
11: Andy (Standfree) - Mazda MX5

Other things to consider:
1: What time do people think we should meet prior to the drive?
2: Fill up your tanks with fuel, we can organise stops as well.
3: Should we take a BBQ???
4: I will have my camera but would encourage others to please take theirs.

If you have not put your name down but would like to come please add it to the list via a quote.

I'm in Banchory, so close enough to Aberdeen!

Ph sticker can be seen next to the number plate in that pic!

As for a meet, I'm up for it! How about meet in Banchory then go for a blast up to ballater, over the pass to strathdon then back to westhill from tarland?

Craig.
Ended up behind you this evening going through Banchory. Gave you a toot.

I was just away down to Perth so took the scenic route over the cairn. Was hoping you were wading out there to wink

Are they not pretty much the same route?

Starting at makro gives a choice of 2 shell petrol stations, surely everyone can manage 100 or so miles on one tank? There are a few other garages with slight detours from the route though.

Ah I did wonder who it was, not many evo's out this way!

If I wasn't on my way to pick up a Chinese I would have! It's a brilliant road the cairn and perfect weather for it!

Your car looked spot on, and hope you enjoyed your drive thumbup

Any idea of the time the meet would start at? As I have things on early evening and wouldn't want to put my name down if I can't make it.

Strange, the link's working for me, anyone else finding that problem?

I'll go and investigate that road tomorrow if I get time.
I'm offshore at the moment with a cr@p Internet connection, so it could be that.

I did the first half of the route this evening. There are a few sections that have had loose chippings put down a few weeks ago, but these have mostly cleared. The road just past Ballater is also open again, so no issues there

I just hope the weather holds out

Pretty much remembering that it's a road, not a racetrack and that it isn't a Max Power rev your engine in the carpark type meet and you are golden smile Make sure you have a bit of petrol in the tank and that the car is in one piece helps too - getting over enthusiastic and then finding out that your tyre pressure are all over the shop isn't the way to do it smile

Making loads of noise out in the countryside is activley encouraged though - looking forward to hearing that TVR at full chat smile

Oh, and make sure it is clean for the obligatory posey photos - maybe pre and post run? - the Zed was clean on Friday, went out to pick up BBQ supplies (that was how I justified blasting out to Banchory along the South Deeside anyway - got shown a clean pair of heels by a RS4 with a woman at the helm along the way) and it looked like I had been out trying to collect all of Aberdeenshire's insect population...

Well, my Chim looks good at a distance, but she's got lots of battle scars! and some 'Vandal scratches' when I left her parked overnight in Swansea City centre Grr!

As for collecting insects! Arrgh! every wasp / bee / fly / midge thinks my car is one great big sunflower! and even as I polish the paint work they land all around where I'm polishing!

My first meet also, so looking forward to it for sure.
