The Fjord Inn in Fisherford is spot on, if you like your food and don't mind the 70's decor.
You will need to book if you want to go on the weekend.

A couple in Angus. Glen Clova Hotel. Tucked away up near the end of Glen Clova, er, road for the last few miles definitely NOT for hooning. But, great food, locally sourced specially the Lamb. Then there's the Venison!! Real ale on tap, accomodation available.
Anchor Hotel in Gourdon. Beautifully presented fresh sea food (seasonable) laid back, informal, basically a pub with food (to die for) Again, great range of real Ales.
Is the Anchor not in Johnshaven? Been there a few times and the food is great. Anchor Hotel in Gourdon. Beautifully presented fresh sea food (seasonable) laid back, informal, basically a pub with food (to die for) Again, great range of real Ales.
As already mentioned Applecross and any other roads north of Ullapool. A889 Dalwhinnie on to the A86 going both north and south. Theres another epic climb north of Inverness but the road has slipped my mind for now. Favourite road in the south is the A697 - choose that over the A1 every time!
The Red Lion Inn, Culross, Fife. Great food.

Would also highly recommend the Douglas Hotel in Brodick, Arran for accommodation and food.

Haggis - Cockburns Butchers in Dingwall nothing matches them imho.
roads - applecross to torridon. Which is more epic, the road or the scenery? I settle on the latter, it will still be there years after the road is gone.

Had an overnight stay at the Adamton Country House Hotel in Prestwick recently. Our Groupon deal for £39 was outstanding value when you consider that included dinner, bottle of wine, and breakfast for two of us. The hotel is very grand and has an amazing history, safe parking for the Corvette, immaculate room and en suite bathroom, very friendly staff. Reviews vary but the annexe rooms seem to get the poorest, we were in the main building which is superb.
This now open at the bottom of the Bealach >> http://thebealach.co.uk
Not really hidden being in central Edinburgh but anyone who likes ice cream like me should head to Mary's Milk Bar.

I thought the taste was like when I have been in Italy and it turns out she trained over there.
