Can anyone recommend a cheap way to do this? I'm half tempted to park at the tram P+R for 1 night and hope that nobody notices, but the internet does say cars will be towed. Paying £30 to park for less than 24 hours at the official parking is slightly taking the piss.

Thanks all, I ended up parking at Hermiston P+R, which was a bad idea. There is no way of walking from there to the tram, at least not easily, and so had to get an Uber from there to the airport, which cost about as much as the bus from Ferrytoll P+R. Only Ferrytoll is nearly 10 miles closer to home and on the right side of the bridge. Hermiston is 5 miles in the wrong direction. rolleyes

Next time will look for a back street near a close tram stop and do that.

So has anyone actually had witnessed cars being towed away from P&R at the airport? Everytime I park there for a day it feels like loads of cars sat there overnight already...
I had an early morning flight the other day and parked at Ingleston about 4:30am. There were about 2 dozen cars already there, mostly parked down towards the 'airport' end of the car park, and it looked very much like some of them had been there all night.

Indeed, esp when one has been skiing and the like. faffing around with ski bags and buses isn't much fun, I think I paid £69 when I pre booked well in advance.
Whereas a return from FerryToll is £14..... For £55 I'll spend 15 mins on the bus each way even with ski bags and avoid the bridge.
