Now do you see the gate-hinge? It's intended to support the relay block so it doesn't descend onto the passenger's knees!

Excellent I got one on the SEAC. Thought it was a previous owners bodge. Trouble is it isnt fixed at what I now know to be the hinge end! How the frig do you get at it??

(I think it was) Jason (jvaughan) who was saying at the Surrey meeting last Wednesday, that he had an idea to use a sprung (self-closing) hinge to assist in keeping the block off the pax knees. If it was you, Jason, can you share your idea please?

Edited 'cos I mixed up Jeff (Morgan) and Jason (Vaughan) ... sorry guys.

Not me, another J Morgan? I use a strap with a snap buckle fron a DIY shop type thingy.

No problem. I found the strap the easy solution to keeping the fuse/relay bit up and out of sight. And should you need to get to it in a hurry, the snap buckle is fine. Only problem is it looks Heath Robinson so going to make a map pocket to cover it.
