I looked at the one owned by pjac67 too. That engine was a beast.
There is another PH name listed alongside it on the wedgelist at the top of the forum in case that helps?
I remember there was also a red 400se with same engine with reg K3RBY or something like that (previously owned by woody?). Not sure what happened to that one.
Chris
Cheers Chris, I will look and try and contact the new owner. There is another PH name listed alongside it on the wedgelist at the top of the forum in case that helps?

Wooly, I was also expecting some sliding past or something with all that room around the camera. I will look for a safe open place to maybe shot the second part once mine is done.

Hi guys - I'm sure he won't mind as he's posted on here before - 'assynt road' bought it for Mrs assynt road hence it is not on his profile.
And yes - it was a bit of a beast and I do miss it (and yes I do have first refusal if it is ever sold again....) although it made way for an even louder very special beast....
Wyn and Chris were the only other 2 to view the car ... nice SEAC Chris, see you in 10 days Wyn!
Zig - sorry I couldn't hang on mate. Still following your trials and tribulations (like reading a good book) - still think NA V8 is your future some day....
I'm sure my Wedge days are not over...
Paul.

Greetings Carob, Kelwedge, Pjac67 and all you wedgeys out there!
It seems my little wally the wedge is causing some interest, since BBWF12 i've treated wally to some new rear tyres, shiney wheel nuts and some new headlights to get it through the MOT. I also had fun putting the nearside headlight pod back in after it shed a pivot bolt in a rain storm!
I also had the megasquirt professionally tuned, I thought you might be interested in the results, the car is no longer a wedge, its a self guided missile!
Thats 271 BHP and 301 lbs of torque.
Cheers, Steve.

Just sold my R/R Vogue 4.6, should have kept it for another 2 to 3 yrs and it would be worth nothing but i would of had the engine out off it and reconditioned the beast.
Always read or think of these thing when it's to late.
Im glad Hayley never saw this!!Always read or think of these thing when it's to late.
Aparently she dosent like driving the Jagwar and needs a Vogue for the kids and shopping (although the shopping gets delivered and the kids are tiny!!!)
Crazy!
Stu
When I had the engine megasquirt tuned Dale also fitted a new engine wiring loom, a trigger wheel so he was able to map the spark as well as the fuel and he also fitted a AFM, off a mustang i believe, so as to meter the air more acurately than the original, that just measured the throttle angle.
As you can see the torque is a straight line UP from 1000 revs!

Hmmm, shows the law of diminishing returns quite well: my 390SE (actually 3948cc, same as a 400SE, rather than its original 3905cc) made 256bhp and 280 lb.ft running flapper injection and standard ignition last year. So a 14% increase in capacity (plus Megasquirt etc.) nets you 5.5% more power and 7% more torque. I guess the issue is: how much more would you have to spend to buy a 4.6L as opposed to a 4.0L RV8? Cheers, Steve.
Guys
I have the red 400SE - KCR6Y - branded as a 460.
Bought it from a gent in Colchester 3 years ago.
I saw paper work when I viewed the car on the engine - think it was from RPI - unfortunately most of the history had been lost due to domestic upheaval when I picked the car up.
Never had time to follow through.
If anyone has further history/spec on motor or car would be delighted to hear.
I love it - my only Wedge point of comparison is a 350i though - absolute walls of torque - a big lazy motor - it could almost be an auto in most fast road situations - it doesn't have much of a thirst realtively speaking - constantly returning in the low to mid 20's.
This winter going to have to replace the exhaust manifolds.

Hi Dragon Wedge,
I owned the car a while back, I brought it off the guy that had all the work done, Cat C /D - red without rear spoiler?
It did have plenty of work, mutliple thousands on the engine but cannot be more specfic than that.
I have a 350i as well at the time and was considerably faster, i then went though a few 400SE and 390SE, up to 5 in the garage - and then settled back to a 400SE with a 4.6 in and a 450SE, both in bits at the mo.

hi Mr Lancia
Thanks for the feedback.
We got the same car - knew about the rebuild - picked that up on a search.
I may be wrong about engine source thining it could have been V8 Developments - but yes, it was big bucks - sticks in my mind I saw an invoice for over £7.5k
Seems to have had a history of boot spoilers - previous owner to me bought it with big whale tail/ironing board - (do we have a proper name for this?. Swapped for standard 400Se spoiler shortly before I bought the car.
In your tenure did it have a grey leather or black leather interior as now?
Still giving a lots of pleasure - used at least once a week for a blast over the Brecons to work and regualrly does a 600 mile weekend round trip to Yorkshire, Mileage now 84k.

Woody's old car. Was stood for several years as the story goes.
Nearly did a deal for it with Woody back in 07-08. Outriggers were ropey back then as I recall. Probably been done since........
BBWF 07....
My two previous Wedges parked alongside. 'HOB' & 'NCV'

Coincidentally, the only other Wedge I have been in prior to the other car on this thread was a red Wedge with a (not sure of how it read exactly) 'KIRBY' reg - can't be sure if it is the same car? - I went as a passenger on a test drive c. 10 years ago (?) and the guy was local to me in 'Yate Rocks' nr.Yate, Bristol - same car? Had grey interior IIRC... Paul.
I remember going to look at KCR6 Y about 4 to years ago in London,it was for sale with a small time car dealer went by the name of Philip Phedonus or something like that, very trusting guy let us take it for a spin,he lived above the co-op. We had a good scout around the car under it and over it and I remember the outriggers being the square box type and looked like a donkeys hind leg and also the chassis repairs at the front. The passenger door card was also badly bowed ,he wouldn't take 5 grand for it even though he was backwards and forwards to the stter with bad guts so we left and went to v8 dev instead ,my chassis was in much better nick I felt and better the devil you know. The photo with the seac spoiler does make the car look good,I do remember the paintwork looking nice back then. There were a couple of other tvr's there at the time as well,a Griffith and a Taimar I think.wooly.
