Hi Keith
On my series 1 getting to the bolt was easy using a 12 or 13 mil spanner I seem to recall.
With my present car - its just the angle being blocked off by the power steering bracket. I've tried spanners, wobble sockets - I'm really baffled as to how anyone can get to it - especially when it needs a tune.
Maybe its me and my technique!!!

Bluewedge, What year is your car ? I notice that Wedg1e
has similar difficulties but has overcome them with super dexterous spanner manoeuvers. I guess there must have been a design change for '90 spec 350i as my power steering bracket is significantly away from the distributor. I know it is a pain in the rear but can you jack the car end up and access the end of the bolt from below ?
