I know this is an old thread but just my 2p worth...
fired up my kit car yesterday on the drive. Left it warm up for about 10 minutes. completely failed to notice huge petrol leak from rear... result knackered drive and bloody lucky not to get a fire!
I replaced all the fuel pipes two years ago yet the tank return pipe ( why does it always seem to be that one..?) has sprung a leak. when I took the pipe off I could literally pull it apart by hand!
yes I bought it off ebay so yes it is my fault but be warned!

Don't beat yourself up over that. We have seen the same crap hose from a number of mainstream suppliers. We have also seen it develop cracks in 6 months.As has been said the Gates Barricade is an even higher spec and we have had no issues since starting to use it. Not cheap but how much is your car worth to you.

I've stopped using gates barricade .. a customer suggested to me that there was fake gates hoses about, and having seen a car in recently with cracked gates barricade hose I am pleased my customer suggested I switch to cohline hose. I'm not saying it's going to be perfect, but so far *touch wood* I've not seen any degradation in the cohline.
I too have had hose degrade after 8-12 months..one thing to bear in mind is that fuel hose for injectors and engine bay needs to have a higher temp rating...the stuff between tanks etc should be for constant submersion as there is fuel inside all of the time...the filler neck should be filler hose...it would be good to find a solution to this with part numbers.
I have had the run from the pump replaced with Kunifer copper...still need to replace the larger bore in-between so if anyone finds something...please share...if I find out in the meantime then I will share also.

Hi,agree with Engineer 1949.Im an early Tasmin owner and also for 20 yrs a boat builder.We only use iso 7840 fuel hose for diesel and petrol.Weve noticed with the increase in Ethanol there is a slight discolouration in the fuel at the filters in the clear (water separation) bowls - nothing else! The hose between tanks - is it not 16 MM 5/8" ? I need to check mine! I will also check with our stores which supplier we use ,I know in the past we used Vetus ,but will ask who we use now and minimum order. Dave

I bet that would put up with petrol all day long....

On the left side of the pond marine fuel lines are easily found in the appropriate sizes. If it is USCG approved it will be fine.
I have used the Trident brand without problem. Their specs for 5/8" line say:
"Trident barrier lined A1-15 fuel hose is for both gasoline (including ethanol blends) and diesel (including bio diesel blends). The 365 Series exceeds ABYC H-24 & H-33, SAE J1527, ISO 7840, USCG Type A1-15; CARB Executive Order and EPA Certified low permeation Type A1-15; and is NMMA Type accepted & CE certified. This hose is built with the best fuel-, fire- and age-resistant formulation and a unique "Barrier Liner" on inside surface of the tube, so fuel is not in direct contact with rubber. Provides extraordinary resistance to fuel permeation, aging and also to fire, heat, cold and ozone. Also features excellent bend-ability."
