Hi

Not a lot of work on cars this weekend, just some sorting out of parts ready for me to start on my first full resto in the new garage/workshop next month of my Trident.

Andy.

The Trident should be an interesting project. Now that you have the facilities to work on it properly, it should make life a lot easier. I wish you the best of luck Andy. Keep us updated.

Well I got to grips with my rear brakes - the handbrake went funny on Xmas day and it turned out to be an inner pad. These are an absolute pain to get to. I just about managed it with my smallest ratchet and 8mm socket, replaced the pad with a spare from a previous change, then the socket wouldn't come off. Sod it I left it on there.

Also the rear main pads looked worn down but when I took one side out (that took me a good hour too) there were 3mm left on there so they can stay for a couple more months.

At least that side will now come off a bit easier, and the other side will be pre-lubed before the final change.

Jeez's mate i wouldn't like to be behind you on a motorway..eek...I once had a wing mirror fall out of a overloaded skip lorry on the motorway..Bounce twice and then smash into my windscreen...Bit of a pain really as i had sold the car to a mate and had borrowed it for the day!....A socket would be like getting shot at!...Mind you if your in South London it would be fairly normal....Ziga

It's only a little 8mm one...

Compared with the occasional spanner that I've lost from the engine bay, that's nothing!

Likewise ... I considered a Griff rear end for the "Gredge" but it would have been too low so would be interested to see the route you have taken with the pipe work fella yes

The wing on my car (single-exit exhaust) is moulded as though it was supposed to be cut out for twin tailpipes like that.

Pipe has been routed under the diff with a 3" oval pipe, then split to 2½"to each side. Stainless steel for all the mods.
As Wedg1e noticed the wing is already marked out for a second tailpipe.
Planned to put stainless plate around the holes on the wing.
Will post some pics of the under diff bit.
