When you tried the batteries did you tighten the two terminals up not just slipped the terminals over the spigots,i ask because mine turned over really slow like the battery was flat and struggled big time until i tightened the terminals to grip properly then hey presto the old bugger sparked into life no problem,i had always just slipped the connections over the terminals to that point if i was pulling em off again but tightening em certainly improved turning over.John.

Hi Mate...What a shame you are giving up on it..It is a lovely looking car and someone is going to get a right bargain..You will kick yourself if it is an easy fix!!..I for one know these cars are more than frustrating at times and if i had long hair it would have been pulled out by now..My 280 was a fking nightmare but i have stuck with it with the encouragement of this forum and im so pleased i did..Im no mechanic but i have learnt bundles and feel good when i can advise others..I wish i knew something about the RV8 so that i could come and have a look and try to establish what is wrong..Are you sure you are not being too hasty!!..Also it would be more than satisfying to know what actually was causing it to be a bh..Even if its for future reference..I respect that it is your decision at the end of the day but is it the right one??..ZigaSpeak to you soon mate
