Certainly for the A frame the original rubber bushes are no longer available so everyone goes poly. TVR Parts are the cheapest I've seen. I did try a few of the usual specialists but they couldn't beat TVR parts prices.
Ok, thanks for that, looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and get the poly ones, although I'm not a big fan - I fitted them to a Scimitar once and the ride was noticeably harsher. I see that one of the advertisers of poly bushes claims their product doesn't give a harsh ride, so.... we'll see!

I sold my Wedge recently but I still look at this forum. I may or may not buy another Wedge but I find this forum very informative. There are a lot of people on here with a wealth of knowledge. FB on the other hand, in my opinion, is only good for gossip and cheap advertising. Also, there seems to be a competition in setting up a Wedge FB group and who can get the most members. It’s hard to use, information doesn’t hang around for too long and you can’t search for anything. This is a proper forum and people will soon realise. FB is no completion and people will in time realise and return. It’s just a passing phase. Just my opinion.

Completely agree Tony, it will be a shame to lose this forum.

The thing is you don't see some of the main topics on hear any more, I presume they have gone else were!

Now Tony get yourself another wedge!

I still lurk but where I used to check on here daily I now have a look every couple of weeks.

FB groups do seem to be better suited for a quick post and as said, putting pics up is so easy.

For me though, the biggest problem with PH is the way it is navigated and used on a phone. Like a lot of people, I use my phone for 99% of internet outside of work and PH just isn't friendly.

I used to love scrolling the classifieds but it's now almost impossible to use and just not enjoyable so I don't look.

Time for an update or just watch it slowly go into the distance....

I've been on here since 2007 when I bought my first Wedge. I still check in once or twice a week, but there's often little going on. It's not what it was 11 years ago and the FB pages do seem to have drained it of regular content.

You can search on FB within certain pages/groups, by the way, but far easier to find older stuff on here.

Bit of a shame, but a sign of the times I feel.

And sometimes they squeak.....I think one or two have dried up on the front end of mine as I have a dry clonking noise coming from the ARB area but no noticeable play or rubbing...frown

You could try Superflex...I have used them for trailing arm bushes before and they were about the best I could find....

Make sure also that the bolts are high tensile strength...my new ones bent within 200 miles...eek

Still here too, currently holidaying in Much Cursing in the Garage. Intended to change a rear hub bearing, but fell at the first hurdle by snapping off the bolt that links the hub carrier, shock absorber and wishbone.
Next stop, Hacksawsville.
Unless anyone has a cunning plan?

Another way of extract is to use a 1mm cutting disc in an angle grinder, these can usually get in between the suspension components without damaging them. A disc will usually do 2 bolts before wearing down.

Or if you want to preserve that bot shank so you can extract it later, use a blowtorch to burn out the rubber bushing, after removing the other side so you can move it around, it stinks like hell but it works.

Hi, Thanks Adam, it looks like this one is going to be a bit of a PITA , an inner arm bolt is seized in the bush (the bolt turns, but won't come out). Good idea about a thin disc in an angle ginder!

Good idea re the disc. These are the thinnest I've seen at 0.8mm. I use them all the time for gutting metal. Much less sparks/mess.

I've been looking round at what bushes to fit on the front of mine. I would go standard rubber but I'm not sure of the quality of the OEM rubber ones and the genuine Ford stuff is so old I'm not sure how long it would last. I therefor started to look at the Poly options. From the ones I looked at the SuperPro seemed to be the best to me.

Good luck getting it sorted. Cheers Steve

Another lurker here ..

It's not as active as it once was. Guess its because TVR is not making new cars, so the older
cars get forgotten about.

Perhaps there will be renewed interest if TVR ever get its act together and start making cars again.

Eegor - he lives!!!

Did an ignition lead shock you back to life, Alan? ;^)

Going back to the thin discs they are too thin to be clamped by my angle grinder so I put a worn out one in there too as a washer.
