This looks like carbon fibre... I thought they were kevlar?

Underside of the bonnet...

This looks more like kevlar...

Any carbon fibre on other SEACs?

Because I'm trying to figure out what it's worth... is it an original factory car in need of rescue or a shagged ex-racer with no pedigree that'll cost a packet to put right? The latter best explains it being stuck in a field. The story doesn't stack up and I'm trying to get to the bottom of it.

It's worth to you what you are willing to pay for it, if that meets the sellers expectations then you have a deal, it's simple really.

As an earlier poster pointed out, it's not a Factory Racer, just a car that has been modified. There was to my knowledge just one factory SEAC racecar (the yellow one) and a 390SE racecar. The was also a 390SE racer sponsored by BLE Automotive. There was blue SEAC (supposedly) kicking about a few yaers ago that the then seller was claiming to be a factory built racecar (maybe this is one and the same car), but I don't think anyone here believed him!

Also your last picture has no evidence of a cage or door bars, so I really think that a long lost racecar is out of the question!

TVR did experiment with Stainless Steel chassis's, and Peter Wheelers Tuscan Racer had one, but the guys at the factory didn't like making them (you only had to ask them), just as PW had a few extra bhp as well for the weight disadvantage!

Just my 2p, may or may not be helpful.

Its a SEAC what pedigree do you want? You get it up and running and you turn up to any sort of car event and I guarantee you will probably be the only SEAC turning up! Unless its BBWF of course.

If you had the loot you can go out and buy pretty much what you want car wise BUT they only made a couple of these babies! buy it, get it running even if it takes years and it will only go up in value.

This one looks pretty rough but so what, I have sticklebacks in mine its an excuse to put in the carpets that you want! those seats look much better than mine!!

Buy it immediately.

Perhaps I ought to buy back my wedgepages site. I cannot let these cars go.

Yes buy it and bring it to BBWF (Even if its still not sorted i.e. on a trailer etc) we need to see it!

Also means another SEAC.

We still need more of them at BBWF!

It is not a racer but it is a SEAC (from the info gleaned so far)

The Autocar article shows them both together:

It's a SEAC that needs loads of money and time expended upon it; I'll make my decision when I have the information I think I need.

I was already thinking BBWF on a trailer... it'll take more than a few months to get an MOT!!

Well ive only been involved in TVRs for a short time now and my 280 has already far exceeded its value but i havent seen another on the road yet where i live and i know once its all done and dusted ill have a car that most people would love to own but they wont cos i will..If this car is 1 of 100 or 1 of 2 its irrelevant cos it will be another one rescued and restored and yours to cherish and others to envy and if it is a rare model what a bonus..
FFS..Nike..Just do it!

Having just done up a SEAC, which had been "garaged" in the open air, I can tell you you won't get all your money back, even if it's a "runner". This car needs lots of love.
By the by, it's not a racer, there only ever was one.
