LOL

They're not friggin whitewalls Adam.

Read a little earlier in the thread laugh

If you're running 225's with 50% aspect ratio then your side wall height is around 112.5mm.

I have on the rear 30% of 285 which is 95mm.

What's 17.5mm between friends smokin

Front side wall is 30% of 255 which is 85mm so not to shabby - I hope.

Should make for interesting and hopefully sharpish handling for a road car.

I enjoy tramlining. You want to ride in my other car which invented it out of the factory.

No, the other wheel manufacturer up that way.

However support has been good. It's just the time they're taking.

Have yet to mate the rear valance up to the car yet but that will come later and I'll let you know what's what.

After waiting what seems like half a year from my front wheels we finally have tyres on wheels and everything fits without rubbing.

Photo shows actual ride height.

Photo's indoors so poor lighting I'm afraid.

Having new drive shafts made up and now measuring for the two higher capacity custom fuel tanks. Thinking about it, pretty much everything custom. Is that why it's costing so much?

Martin (Stainless chassis SEAC) came out in his 350i this morning so good to meet him.

Hi Martin.

Not yet.

After fuel tank measurements it's taking everything off the car for plating and powder coating and a little more welding on the chassis including strengthening the front shock towers.

Once that's completed then it will be of to the galvanisers.

Hi Cam,

Not yet.

I think the best time to take those pic's is when it's been built-up to a rolling chassis after the galvanising.

I'm getting the wishbones powder coated black but all the rest including the Jag back axle zinc plated so everything will look new and shiny.

I would like to think this part will be completed in 6-8 weeks max.

Thanks Dix.

I sincerely hope the finished article turns out how I want it to and that most people will appreciate it.

I know some do not like to wander to far off the originality path but each to their own.

Overdue images of my refurbed 4.2 RV8.

Halfway through the rebuild we found that the heads had been skimmed and that the replacement gaskets did not line up with the ports, this included the lifter valley pan gasket. We have therefore used a composite gasket opened out the ports to match the port holes.

I also decided to go to a Megsquirt so had to fit the trigger wheel.

All plus a little bling here and there.

Enjoy.

Thanks guys.

Yes Graham, and that goes for all the fasteners.

I have used polished headed stainless throughout. Just hope I can keep it all clean.

May just give all the ali a light WD40 spray each year and polish off before the BBWF biggrin

Just awaiting the custom ali fuel tanks and then we can lift the body off again.

Question for the bbrain trust.

Looking at the images of my engine above is this a serpentine or pre-serp?

For some reason I thought it was a pre-serp but have just read here in this auction:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Megasquirt-Megajolt-DTA-...

...that Serp engines have the single long belt running everything.

I'm confused now.

Thanks Guys,

Wasn't there also a noticeable difference in how the oil pump is located and or driven?

Hi Leigh,

Yes, it does make sense.

I only asked as I'm about to post my dizzy to this guy for modding:

£45.00 exchange - looks nice.

Hi Jon,

Just noticed I never responded to your comments.

The engine has just been freshened over as it was running just fine before with Austec's rollers measuring 276 bhp at the wheels. Hopefully the Megasquirt will smooth things out a little to make things a little sweeter but I'd rather have some long term reliability than an extra 50 horses for willy waving.

How's all your projects?

Just received the new re-sized fuel tanks - and they fit ok.

Body has been taken off the chassis again.

Front shock towers are now getting the strengthening treatment then I think we're ready for chassis treatment.

Dink,

No soundbites with the Rover I'm afraid, at least not yet.

This car will be setup on the rollers rather than an engine dyno.

Just need the find a hub dyno (I don't like slipping tyres) and an operator that is experienced in tuning Megasquirt ECU's.

I hope the car is ready for paint before Christmas or early 2012.
