Altogether in the manner of Gene Kelly now:-

We`ll be wedge-ing in the rain,
We`ll be wedge-ing in the rain,
Its a glorious sound, we`re driving again.

With your foot to the floor
You`ll be in Stratford by 4

Put a smile on your face
The weathers a disgrace

hear those exhausts roar
While owners hearts soar

We`ll be wedge-ing in the rain,
We`ll be wedge-ing in the rain,
Its a glorious sound, we`re driving again.

Doo be doo doo be doo

No but seriously its tipping it down this morning!!!

This afternoon, somewhere on one of the nations atherosclerotic arteries, marks the handing over of a brown envelope and a set of keys to next steward of 400SE, the Shadowfax.

NCK - 33HW : SA9DEN4P1LC019374

to one formerly known as 'wedgeless', Steve, a gentleman of the Shires.

As ye gather on the Wiltshire plain, for breaking of fasts and yards of grog, raise your glasses to the ones who laboured with no little skill and courage, who made possible the fine V8 that comes to form the Cathedral of Sound. To the men of Lancashire, overlooking the Bay and the hills of Wales, those who fashioned the Steeds of Wedge.

Till the next time, folks. It's been an honour

For those about to rock

Sad day Jim but HEY the King is dead.....long live the King.
Are you off to Lorien with the rest of the Fellowship :Bilbo:

Be careful out there chaps....especially the southbound/northbound M42 guys...remember the fixed scameras in the road works juncs 3-5 are active and reeling in loads of cash.....be also aware that Warwickshire BiB are not daft and probably be aware via these pages that there will be some enthusiastic driving on the way to BBWF

It's a jungle out there....no NIPs please (unless of course you're a lady and this bloody weather don't help you either)

Thanks for all the well wishes folks - Mum & tot's doing fine.
Weather looks okay - slightly heavy air which helps with the Wedge grunt!
Seamus - still want the knob? Father Ted still want the Zorst?
Much interest in the SEAC. I adore it like none of my other Wedges bu it pains me to see it doing nothing. Alternative is to put it in storage with the Audi Quattro - but the SEAC just seis give me some and thus it seems a shame to lock it away - much discussion tomorrow I'm sure.
Cheers,
TaS

Belated congrats Tas.. should think we will be able to convince you that selling is not an option thanks for the offer of the knob - will take you up on that..

Jim - sorry you had to sell but I feel sure you'll be back!

And wedgedup (formerly wedgeless ) congrats on your purchase.

Have fun everyone. I shan't be there. Despite getting back from the USA a week early I still can't come cos my beastie is still in the body shop following an altercation with a w*nker in a Vectra on the way back from Le Mans. (His fault 100%, and the Vectra came off far worse! )

I'm only about 100 miles away, so I'll listen out for the mass engine start tomorrow night!

I will be leaving Andover at 05:30 to get to BBWF ... Should be in Devon by 08:00 for the service, and hope to leave Devon before lunch.

No chance to polish or wash .. It will be turning up with road grime ....

Gentlepeeps. I remembered to pick up the wedge-o-meter today, and have cunningly crafted a full weatherproof cover for it this afternoon, ready for tomorrow (!?). I can't remember if anyone else was going to do it but we will have at least one device for measuring mass wedge music. (Is it me or is this just like xmas as a kid?)

Deed is done. The man has his steed. Look forward to seeing a pic of Shadowfax alongside the rest of the stable at your mighty gathering on the plains.

The M6 is crap by the way. We came back along A41 - you drive, not hop. And the weather is sure gettin nicer from this end down so that's a relief.

Dicky - not quite Lothlorien, we're off to the land of silent torque for a while.

Have GREAT WEEKEND !!!

Big Thanks Due to Jim & Wendy strove through immense traffic to deliver Shadowfax today - Will strive to uphold the reigns of Gandalfs steed on their behalf and wish them well on the Quest For The Big Cat in the Land of Lyon (william I believe?)

What song is it you want to hear???

Nobody gonna take my car
I'm gonna race it to the ground
Nobody gonna beat my car
It's gonna break the speed of sound
Oooh it's a killing machine
It's got everything
Like a driving power big fat tyres
and everything

I love it and I need it
I bleed it yeah it's a wild hurricane
Alright hold tight
I'm a highway star

Yup, I was going to bring the one from work, but ironically, having been sat on a shelf for years, it's out on hire

Folks,
Well what can you say - where to start

Absolutely stunning & marvelous day. BBWF, IMHO, was a fantastic success

First of all well done to Mrs H, Rev and Neil H - We all owe them a big thanks

It was great to put faces to names and names to forum handles. The mental picture you paint of people - happy, grumpy, dozy, funny, a laugh, odd, etc becomes one of 'we're all pretty normal' (well you folks are - I can't vouch for me) - just regular folks with a common passion - It was a pleasure to meet you all

Thanks to streaky for the photo shoot, Rev for organising the drive, Chris, shirts, etc and Karen and Neil for the venue, barby, etc, etc - too much to list from each of you but you sure organise a fun

Chris was a revelation - his knowledge on the 390 and SEAC's , even down to particular cars was staggering - he even answered the one SEAC question many are asking about - more some other time.

Thanks to Steve and Neil on your thoughts about selling my SEAC - it is a wonderful and genuine car and I don't want to part with it but I want to see it being used - like Neil I will indeed vet the new owner before letting it goI will certainly be taking your thoughts on board.

Good luck to Steve on the 660 chase and to Neil and Karen on the future plans.

Hope all your hangovers are sorted

TaS

Well what can you say - a fantastic day with upto 80 wedges in total!! Incredible effort by all to make it a great day.. drive out was hysterical - wedges coming from all directions at one point.. seemed like there were no other cars on the road! Venue and food were tops. Best of luck gsx600 with the 400 - a real shame.. should be incredible once the 4.5 is dropped in. Hope the brakes are sorted soon TVRNUT - good effort to make it in the end, hope you enjoyed it having made such an effort to get there. Was good to put handles to faces and catch up with those from previous events & to hear all the stories re white elephant & the continued search for the famous and illusive wedges (660 SEAC). I'll mainly be nursing my sore face in a bucket of ice after rev & teds prayers unexpectedly got the weather we had hoped for. (teach me to keep the sunblock in the car)
Hope you all got back safely.

Elaine and I have just blasted back home - We both thought the weekend was brilliant.

I can honestly say that it was one of the best TVR related weekends that we have ever been on - and we have been on many!!!.

We had it all, excellent fast driving roads, beautiful scenery, good grub, excellent hotel, some brilliant company and some scandal to boot!.

It was really good to meet everybody who we have been talking to over the years via e-mail.

I would like to thank everybody who helped put this weekend together, organising the hotel, BBQ and the rest of it - it was brilliant.

Thank you.

MikeB & Elaine (the boss)
