Alan - go on google maps, type in Ettington chase, then "Search nearby", type in hotels, there are 5 or 6 in the surrounding 2 miles or so... e.g google says "The Houndshill" is £70 a night.

Some of these might be useful...I still can't believe that we were out numbered by a "Push bike rally"..

If we leave a load of tin tacks on the surrounding roads they won't make it and there will be plenty of rooms! ;^)
Actually just thought... for the run-out on Saturday it will be worth checking with the push bike chaps in case they have a race organised and if so what is their route - last thing we need is mixing fast wedges and slow bikes.
OK found it here: http://www.tourofengland.co.uk/tours/nspcc-tour-of...
Maps and all - they are all routes going south of the chase so we had better go north...

..Thanks Adam...Hang on i have had an idea.."Quick" everyone book under their guise..As compensation we can pay the charity money to the NSPCC and no-one will moan...I even have a brand new 3 man tent they can use..So not only will they be doing the environment a favour they will also be helping to raise more money from us...Right where's the organisers number.....
I am truly amazed. I was just reading about the cycling group and thinking these guys must be well fit. If I was to cycle 158 miles and climb 10000 feet, I'd be needing more than an evening meal. I'd probably need an ambulance. I wonder what's on their menu for the evening meal. Carrots, lettuce and evian water probably.
I think a northern root is a good idea seeing that they are travelling south, and that their transport is the cleanest and ours is the total opposite. We don't want to be polluting their air. The evening in the hotel should be fun. They'll either convert us to use their form of transport or we'll convert them to use ours.

They certainly are mate..They have agreed to do their bit for good causes..I have a treadmill generator booked for Saturday night to power our evenings lights and sound equipment which is going to be powered by 3 bicycles..I did say they could all use the Dyno...They will probably get the highest BHP of the day...ElvisWedgely said:

Tony...I think the amount of methane from all the carrots & Lettuce they will be emitting whilst completing their challenge would most certainly out weigh the amount of gases we will be popping out!..And yes we definitely want to be going in the other direction..Im certainly not going to drive behind them...I also have an idea for a compromise between us and them..It involves cardboard..(Recyclable)..And some tie bars...It won't be a "Tandem" it will be more of a "Wedgem"....
Mind you the hotel asked me last week if we can keep the noise down from 8pm onwards.....Ive only just stopped laughing....

I thought this years car park competition was already settled. ' it's any person weighing over 15 stone who can sit in my Wedge drivers seat, and successful shut the door and put the belt on'. Because I can tell you, I weigh less than that and it's a challenge getting in. This Wedge is mighty tight. The door cards are exceptionally wide for some reason.

Right, need to go on diet to get down to my fighting weight for this one... Tony. TCB.
