Hard to get parts
Discussion
Just been reading the hard to get parts thread thingy on the TVRCC Forum. Now from a personal point of view I cannot bring myself to reply as I have a long memory, Bitter I know but just the way I am built.
I will just chuck an idea in the pot here. With regards to the wheel centre caps. Has anyone given thought to 3D Printing...? There are many places that will now carry this service out and surprisingly it is pretty cheap by the looks of it. Their appears to be various materials that can be used to make parts needed. Also Hydro-graphics is a way of attaining the required surface finish like chrome for instance.
Just an idea for you guys to think about and chuck comments and thoughts of on here for all to share.
Cheers
Rob

Hi mate...I did put some suggestions forward and was told that the centre console ashtrays are from a Metro?...I have searched and searched to no avail..I also owned a Metro GTA and as far as i can remember it had a flip front ashtray ...?
As far as the wheel centres are concerned then 3D printing would be a good solution..Chroming them is not too expensive but like you say hydrographics could be a cheaper option..Unfortunately my mould making days are over or i would have a go...(Just too messy)...Although i have checked the advances in RTV which look pretty good...
I did think that injection moulding might also be an option...
Also there are these...
1. De-mister vents
2. Throttle cable
3. TPS
4. Roof lugs
5. Reverse light switch
Cheers...Ziga

As I said guys just an idea. Money is a bit tight at the moment with Christmas coming up and having a small family it can get quite expensive, especially as I have a 4 year old that is convinced he is Spiderman. But I am considering looking into a 3D printer. Between now and then I will do a bit research and see where it takes me.

Total agree Rob about the continuing nonsense on the TVRCC site, the OZ and push in centres should be straight forward so those other rare parts like the famous centre console ashtrays (not Metro!) and the black circular plastic surrounds for the round headlights etc
Chris, I take it you are on about this.Could be a first project.

Someone needs to take the initiative as i asked my mate Les but he is not interested in Wedges....
I have a mate up this way who is a bit of a computer whizz and I know he will be able to make some software up for us. I will not have a chance to contact him till the weekend at the earliest but I will make contact and see if he is willing to help US out. Rob
