Cardiff Audi had a new unregistered RS6 in their showroom last weekend.

I've been around some high end cars over the years but I've never seen wheels, disks and calipers as big.

They also had a lovely black RS4 up at £80K
The RS6 probably has the optional carbon ceramic brake option, 22" wheels have to be specced with that option.

Ferrari F12 TdF heading west near J38 this afternoon and a Chrysler 300G in Baglan this afternoon. It's probably still rocking on its suspension.
the nardo grey one in their showroom had the non ceramics with red calipers but still had the 22's. That car was sold and awaiting collection biggrin

I think the launch edition has 22" alloys whatever the brakes.

According to the reg, that one I posted on page 235, was the Launch Edition. According to the Gov MOT checker it was the "Launch Ed TFSI MHEV QTO A".

Does that mean it's a "hybrid" of some sort??

I’m sure I heard Audi are dodging a launch edition of the RS6 which will have lots of kit on it. That’s probably where the confusion lies

I believe they were called a great solution to a problem that didn't exist! Nice idea though....

Yep the new RS6 runs a 48v electrical system, which recovers power under breaking and is classed as a mild hybrid.

Yes, the RS6 is classed as Mild Hybrid:

Mild Hybrid technology reduces fuel consumption and emissions by increasing recuperation and switching off the combustion engine during coasting when travelling less than 99mph – and starting it automatically on acceleration.

More and more performance cars are getting this, I’m sure Mercedes have introduced it.

Also apologies for the typo in my original post, I wrote dodging but I meant doing!

Had a chat to the owner of a lovely bright yellow McLaren 570GT today when he was visiting a neighbour of mine in Bridgend. What an absolutely fabulous car.

Is he from the Pontyclun area? Saw it the other week, and I swear it's the person who had (still has?) the yellow 981 GT4. Had a couple of chats with him in Tesco before he bought his GT4, and like to claim I persuaded him :-)

Yes, same person. He visits here quite often so I see most of the cars he's had. Think he said the GT4 has now gone. Great guy and was happy to talk cars! The 570GT really looked impressive close-up.

Working on gas sometimes get to see some interesting stuff ,I should ask if it’s ok to photograph and post on here ,unfortunately I didn’t get to do purge and relight at mr Tcw,s house ,frown would’ve liked to see his car collection,),I’ve seen some beauty’s and sometimes have got excuse myself as the conversation goes on ,as soon as you ask what’s under the cover, the conversation goes on before you know it half hour has passed and there’s still 10 houses off gas that need reconnect and I’m then late getting home

Had to go to Heathrow today, as you can imagine roads were quiet but did see a silver AMG GT, 5.0 Mustang, Bumblebee red Camaro, black M3 saloon, black M5 previous gen, black Bentley Conti GT, classic blue 911, white GT3, a few Tesla 3’s and S and a Model X opening up it rear gullwing doors at the airport.

Also saw a car on roof by Cardiff Gate eastbound on way home, fingers crossed all ok.

Cayman GT4 outside the Morgans Hotel a few nights ago

And a McLaren 600LT Spider passing Sainsburys earlier, not much out given what's happening in the world these days, felt like a winter sunday

couldnt believe how busy Brecon was yesterday. i ended up going to the Black Mountains for a drive.

2018 Bentley Bentayga in Glyneath

in Brecon passing the horseshoe was a team of 5 TVRs, yellow Cayman GT4, Silver 996 Turbo, Silver Mercedes AMG GT. I was parked next to a nice Focus RS, Silver 997 CS Convertible and a 140i which i believe were friends. Brand new red Bentley flying spur parked up beneath Pen Y Fan.

On the black mountains, various M cars and a couple of Lotus Elise, also spotted a group of decked out MK2 Golfs. i also passed a red porsche 964 on the way.

Lots of metal out and about yesterday!

Obligatory Black Mountains pic;
