Fantastic day, Well done to everyone involved. Had a great day on the 100 circuit. Can't believe how busy we were.

I sent a mate off to take some photos.

More here.

Also we were told at the drivers briefing by Devin that no one would boil their grapes brakes. I did mine by 10am and i wasn't the only one.

What a great day! smile
Some great cars and loads of people hopefully equalled loads of money!!

I couldn't stay long so didn't end up going in anything as the queue was huuuge! So I just bunged some money in a bucket.

Loved the Lexus it made an amazing noise

Well done Kev!! :-)

Well done to all involved, didn't go last year, was certainly surprised at how busy it was!

Had the two kids with me, so went for a truck ride instead, quite enjoyed it truth be told hehe

Hope people don't take this the wrong way, but I do think it was incredibly expensive. There would be a fair few people who would love a trip in a Ferrari/LFA and not be able to afford it.

I think a day like this should make these cars accessible by all. Even £40 for 3 laps in the old man's car is pretty steep, but that's just my opinion. Also, having more cars out would make for better spectating.

I know people (like the guy above) are spending serious wads of cash on tyre wear and petrol, but that's their charitable donation, and I'm sure they don't mind (I know my Dad doesn't)

I was stood on a hill and a guy had two young lad with them, and he wanted to get them both in a Fezza, but he said it would have cost him £160 and that was two days wages for him. Just felt a bit sorry for him, still the lads said they enjoyed the ride in the classics they did have.

However, that's not to detract from an amazing event. I hope maybe some mid ground can be had? Maybe a couple of Fezzas/Lambos going round the 100 circuit next time so people can experience them for their budget.

Hope that's taken in the context I meant it to. xxx

Well done again to all involved.

I tend to agree with the comments above. I think the price could have been lowered slightly on the top group cars and they would have gotten more interest. The 100 circuit was very busy after lunch and everyone was telling me what a bargain it was. My car isnt a flash Ferrari but it still packs 350 horseys, so is no slouch. People could have 8 rides in it for the price of 1 ride in the LFA...

I don't disagree that the price was high, if I am honest I thought that we would be standing around all day. However, I took out 21 paying passengers in my car @ £90.00 a ride. The cars on the T Class were busy much of the day. I managed to use over 2 tanks of fuel on the circuit and in the afternoon I was almost permanently pulling in and then back out again. I filled up twice at the circuit @£1.55 per litre......... ouch.

Thanks to the organisers and the paying public, I hope we raised loads of money.

I did notice there was plenty of interest in the top stuff, and I suppose supply and demand rules, if people are willing to pay that much, then fair enough.

I think it's worth considering you can actually drive a Nissan GTR for the same price on some supercar days, 2 laps passenger, then 3 laps driving yourself.

I suppose, my only comment is to make some of those supercars available on the 100 cicuit for a tenner, so people can experience them, albeit not at tentenths.

Guys,

Thanks for the feedback and I do truely appreciate and understand the concerns.

My problems with pricing is that due to the groups, we need to differentiate the type and quality of not only cars but drivers too. In Top Class, you had some very talented and well known drivers (albeit in crash helmets so you didnt know who).....

Using yesterday as an example, if we had dropped the Top Class and A class by £10/£20 the queue would have been massive and we would not have been able to get everyone out.

We are physically unable to get more than 35 cars out on the 200 at a time. MSV rules which I cannot change. We took a gamble allowing the supercars out with the race cars. Otherwise it would have been worse due to having to send the different cars out in half hour segments.

We did run a raffle which saw a £1 ticket give someone the chance to get a ride in any of the cars. We did two draws but no one came back to claim them... frown

We are having a debrief meeting later this week so I am sure pricing and cars will be the top discussion points.

Again thanks for all the support. Maybe we have outgrown Snetterton and need a bigger track with more space for more cars? Who knows....but for now, I am off for a lie down...hehe

Without sounding patronising (sorry it does a bit) the experience is not the speed, because there are faster cars out there. It is the fact that for many people, they just want a ride in a Ferrari, Lambo or an Aston Martin; They are aspirational and a dream car for many. Personally I love the GTR, but sorry it is not a Ferrari frown While the super cars are very quick road cars, they are no match for a race car that was a cheaper alternative on the day. I still agree that perhaps £60.00 would be about right, but seriously I could not have driven any more laps than I did and at £90.00 per ride that is an awful lot more for charity than @ £10.00 per ride. The laws of supply and demand do apply, whether we feel it is right or wrong; it is all for charity remember. <Patronising off>.

If the top end cars were too cheap, it would kill the demand for the lower end stuff. The prices do feel a bit high, but the queues proved that KevF got it right. Unless the event was running well below capacity, the only impact price reductions would have had is reduced revenue, which would be pointless.

LOL......would you believe that Snetterton only called those guys in on Saturday evening !!!! I said over 2 months previous that Tyrrells would be massively busy and that more vendors would be needed. But I think now MSV and Snetterton have seen the amount of people that will come to an event like this, next time they will be better prepared. To be honest though, they were very helpful this year and I am sure turned a decent profit from the day.

Kev, as said already the pricing must have been right or I would have been sitting around all day....... but I was not. By the way, great event and I really enjoyed it (save 1 incident) and hope to be allowed to come back next year. Thanks to all the volunteers who worked all day strapping people in and getting them out of cars. I hope you raised a shed load for the charity also (please let us all know).

Did you have an issue with the car? Saw you coming in slow with hazards on.

I did enjoy watching you go past though, I never realised my car was so loud!

Popped along yesterday with the family. Haven't been for many years.

Really enjoyed it! Lots to see, and managed to get the wife for a spin which she enjoyed. Gives her an appreciation of why I spend so much on racing!

My little boy didn't know where to look at lunchtime, with the planes, trucks and cars all about! He managed to break his flag through over-enthusiastic waving!

Looking forward to next year - very well done to all those involved.

Don,t you dare change circuits or the format.

Snetterton is the perfect place for this event with more than enough room for all and great viewing. Jamie and MSV staff and all marshalls are so helpfull and they know this type of format very well.

From a drivers point of view, 35 cars out on the circuit is more than enough with the 3 lap turnover to give spectators a constant viewing of all the different cars. Whats more, it gives the paying passengers a better and less "convoy" race experience and a chance for the driver to safely and comfortably push on.

However i do think that it should be 4 laps to enable the tyres to warm a little and be a more absorbing experience for the passenger.

A simply fantastic event put together with military precision by a wonderfull group of volunteers.

WELL DONE and THANKYOU

Another vote of thanks for a great day! I really enjoyed the Lexus LFA, it was quite an experience and Richard wasn't hanging about biggrin

I also went in the Rover turbo which was driven with enthusiasm and was good fun.

Well done to all for putting on a superb day.

You'll see above I did mention supply and demand being a driving factor, and yes, the queues were testament to it being right in that respect. My point was about having a marque car (Ferrari, Lambo, Aston, etc - ones that mentioned above are 'aspirational') that are accessible to those who simply could not afford it otherwise.

As you say though, make a Ferrari available for a tenner, and who's going to want to go in a TR6 for the same price.

Who knows? Just making some thoughts known after speaking to a family that simply had no way of getting their sons in their idea of an aspirational car.

If a solution can be found, it's worth my mention.

I put my hazards on for the Red Flag as some behind were trying to overtake.

Your car is not, this has modified exhausts & cams biggrin
