RAF Marham Charity Track Day 24th & 25th April 2010
Discussion
Hi All,
Hope your getting reading for the Track day and that your car is in better shape than mine. I took my car to Wheels Day in Aldershot Surrey had major carb petrol problems, the car died when going through traffic lights got 3 points and a £60 fine. Just had chance to look under bonnet and think that it is the head gasket/ piston gone again.
We are not going to make it. Our tow vehicle has broken down. This month is not a good month. Hope you all have a good day. Do a couple of laps for me.
A very disappointed Joanna

Sadly my car won't be on track this time around, I usually drive the "mobile chicane" (where've I seen that before?) Dark Green Midget, but this time she's proper poorly and wont be on track
I have been offered a drive or two with mgmark, garyfrogeye and toby, so I'll be around on Saturday

Not long now guys and girls.
Remember your photo IDs when you come or we can't let you get on to base.
The weather is all booked (cool and dry) so that's that sorted.
Just remember that you can order tyres if you need to at Etyres.com. Just arrange for them to be fitted at Marham as he is the only fitter allowed on camp and helping our charities out. He'll also be swapping your own rubber from wheel to wheel if you want so no need to pack loads of spare wheels. Just buy or bring the rubber. It is a fiver per wheel all for charity mate...
See you all in the drivers brief.
George

How would I get on as I have had to send my license to the court and I know have no form of ID or license. I have been asked if I want to join in if I come along but do not know if this would be possible.Remember your photo IDs when you come or we can't let you get on to base.

Thanks
Joanna
Joanna,
Do you not have a passport on any official form of photo ID?
If not then;
Take a copy of your photo licence before you send it off and get it signed as a true copy by someone else who is turning up with you assuming that they have a valid form of ID with them.
If you have any problems on the gate then ask to speak to George.
Cheers

Hi
Sorry I have already sent the license and I wouldnt get signed on for driving would I?
I think I am going to have to say have fun and I will see you in October. It is the head gasket on the car, I have sent the head to be skimmed and we will see what happens. I have also got a new stainless exhust and twin 40 webers so should be running better by then.
Just want to say a big thank you to everybody that is and will be willing to help me once things get back onto track for me.

If this really is "all proceeds to charity" then I'd gladly stick ETyres stickers all over my cars to give them some free exposure in the photos that will no doubt crop up an a few forums. The Skoda's quite photogenic in works colours.Just remember that you can order tyres if you need to at Etyres.com. bury to thetford, and then head to kings lynn, on the A134, you will come to a place called stradsett, which is a staggered cross road, and has a pub called the foldgate inn, when here turn right towards fincham and swaffham, follow this in to fincham, you will find the church in fincham on your left, and just past the church there is a cross road junction, turn left (its sign posted marham) follow the road out of the village,up the hill, down the hill to the bottom, turn right and head to marham village, when you come in to marham you will go through a small wooded area, when you come out the other side there will be a right turning which will take you to the base(sign posted i think), follow this up the hill and you will come in to the raf housing area, round the left hand bend and the main gate is about 1/4 mile on the right..
hope this helps
