Many thanks to everyone who turned up on what started out as a bit of a
damp day. With visitors coming up from North London, South from Holt and
East from Ely, Cambs, I think they put a few local guys to shame.
With the rain delaying our start a bit, the time just flew by so we really only
skated quickly over the subject of surface cleaning, with only the bonnet of
an Aston getting any protective covering. All in all it was an easy and intimate
exchange of tips where we all learned something.
I was especially taken with a single-hand adaptation of a Das Pro polisher!
It's something that I'm going to investigate further, especially if I can find a
lighter machine. There are still some hurdles like whether I'd cope with the
vibrations to explore yet, but explore them I will!
One of the intended targets of the day was a neglected Pug van. As a final
act of the day, with the clay cloth in proximity, I had a very quick go. So,
here's the paint at the start...
Here it is after the clay cloth and a quick wipe-over with Lusso Oro cream.
Yes, that is my reflection you can see...
...and here's the doors in context.
Many thanks again to everyone who came. Hopefully, for the next one there
won't be quite the level of brinkmanship shown for this one. I imagine our
"official photographer" had sufficient time to tear himself away from the
C class he was lavishing some love upon. No excuses now, Darren

Thank you to LowiePete for organising a great day out!
Six of us attended making it an intimately enjoyable social day out.
Rain in the morning meant we had decent discussion of techniques, products and tools used in detailing.
Currently possessing an old C-Class courtesy car, I took it along as a test mule, receiving a good clay treatment and tar removal.
Machine polishing, wax application and a waterless vs. two bucket method washing were also demonstrated.
Then at the end of the day, we where all kindly given a little goody bag of products to take away
Thank you to everyone who turned out for our first Detailing Meet, and again thanks to LowiePete for organising and hosting the Meet!
Finally, you can see my PHOTOS HERE
Hopefully see you all again soon!
