cheers never really hear it from the outside only when I'm next to a wall or something that echo's it back! I really should let someone drive it so I can hear it!
Yeah it was, after he struggled to get through noise testing they finally gave up, one lap in and it caught fire
speaking of noise testing, how did everyone do? I was 104db and he was hesitant to let me out, last time I was 90 something and nothing has changed apart from air filter system changes? :S

Tell ya what...
You drive My Skyline past me and I'll drive Your VX past you. My Mrs can never quite understand it or get it quite right.
I spoke to the guy with the MR2 and he did say he had worries about the noise test. A couple of people offered their 'bungs' but they were too small.
Unlike another person who shall remain nameless ( ), who was asked to keep the power down past the the noise tests on track.
That MR2 was apparently putting out 406 hp ATW.

It wasn't a full can and wasn't the cause/even involved in the fire.
They did announce it was the cause of the fire which was pretty harsh. Stupid thing to do none of the less though
This annoys me - it's along the lines of the first trackday I did earlier this year there were two of us out in red MR2s - different shades, one a T-Bar and one a tin-top, one a V6 and the other a turbo, different color wheels, different spoilers - it turns out that for most of the day the marshals THOUGHT WE WERE THE SAME CAR. You'd hope they would pay a bit more attention? Seems churlish to complain when their hard work and early starts makes it all possible, but I'd hope they'd pay a bit more attention. They did announce it was the cause of the fire which was pretty harsh. Although it's not smart to keep a can of petrol in the boot, it's also quite irresponsible to spout of to everyone from a position of some authority something totally libelous like that - I wasn't there - I just came to see if there was a thread after hearing about a fire on the club forum.
Big shame to watch your P&J go up.
Didn't realise it was a PH meet as well.....i was on track in the red mr2 (the one that didn't catch fire but did have some mild overheating coolant issues), anyone get any pics of me?! (gf isn't a pro photog so hers werent that great!)
Saw the silver VX at petrol station on way filling up too!

Spoke with him Ant today and the car isn't bad at all! which is amazing considering the fireball it was engulfed within!
few hoses need replacing and job done, cause is unknown but the turbo jacket was burnt! the flames where definitely fuel burning flames but the cause could have been the jacket going up! but after one lap still warming tyres?

Blimey! I was over by Tyrells after the red flag. Couldn't see the car but could see the flames licking over the barriers. I was expecting a burned out shell.Rob197 said:
That mr2 was very sideways behind me out of the hairpin, looked like alot of fun! Any pics of mine?
Err it might be obvious but just in case what were you in? (I only got chance to take pictures from 6.15 and there was a bit of a pause in the proceedings so not much track time pics)Had a great evening in the old girl (blue/black sunbeam lotus) - great track time and only one spin as its a road car with normal road tyres (no 888r's here!)
ref the MR2 - passed as the fire cars first arrived and the flames billowing out from underneath (unusual sight of a msv pick up coming towards you down the Senna/Revett straight the wrong way!) Glad its not too badly damaged and agree that the PA announcement regarding the fuel can issue was uncalled for.
Good blast with the RS6 estate and the silver M3 at the end - the RS6 eeked out the advantage down the 2 straights but corners were a different matter....and the M3 finally caught me after quite a few laps.
If anybody has any in-car footage or shots of mine please let me know.....
