I haven't got a protege for the event this time - for the first time in ages.
do we have any first-timers that want a sound introduction lurking anywhere ?
We need to team up to ensure Joanna with the sunbeam gets up to speed quicklydo we have any first-timers that want a sound introduction lurking anywhere ?
I know your brother offered to assist - I did too another offer of help would be appreciated
Just sent you details by email Ian.
My 2.2 Camry offers a surplus of grip over power, and my lack of track experience means I may well be one of the slowest people attending! However I'm hoping to bring along a passenger who can give me a bit of tuition and by the end of the day I'd like to think I'll be a bit more confident in the abilities of me/the car.

Hi All,
Really looking forward to the Saturday, thanks to the people that have offered to help me learn the track a bit better. Dont have the fastest car in the world but 105mph down the straight is the best its gonna do for now........
See you there
Joanna

Mark, Joanna - here's the format.....
a couple of slow laps first thing behind the safety car
then a cup of tea and a chat for twenty minutes while the red mist clears
then five laps or so at a range of speeds as passenger with me
then laps in their own car with me as a passenger
then a bit of fun in the Nova with Rob
we don't aim to set any fastest times, but to gain the tools to be able to drive close to flat out for as long as we want without problem.
we'll work on skills that can be taken away - i.e. observance and smoothness.

Best you get those skills from Rob and Stuart and not me - although a recent very wet trackday in France has made me appreciate the smoother style - my observation still leaves a bit to be desired ![rofl](/inc/images/rofl.gif)
Reminds me must put a thead up about that in this section and hope the mods don't move it to trackdays

Is it OK if I make myself known to you and follow along and/or join in on those chats please?a couple of slow laps first thing behind the safety car

I came along last October as passenger with Chris in his MX5 and enjoyed many laps in that and with Ian and others in a variety of cars, but I think it’s important I get a bit of disciplined advice for my first time, rather than go out and try and emulate their pace and end up feeling frustrated because I can’t.
As mentioned above, I will be accompanied by someone with a good amount of experience but he’s never been to Marham before.
Thanks, Nigel.
