PHEA RUN - Aldeburgh Fish and Chip Run - 24th April
Discussion
Many thanks to Mark and Darren for organising another well attended meet.
Much like Malachimon, I still have dents in my forehead due to the hail Whats the point in having a drop top and not dropping it !!
To echo what has been posted before, I hope that the Puma guys are ok and all gets sorted painlessly for them.
Nice to see everyone that I know and to meet and chat to some new faces.
Please feel free, in the future, to volunteer to be a 'group' leader. It really isn't too hard and makes things easier for all concerned.
Thanks also to Gemma, the manager at Tesco in Stowmarket, for her cooperation in allowing us all to meet in the car park.
Hope you all made it home safely.
oh..... Driver of the day ?
ASBOandthemagicticket. Sorry mate....

That's what we went past! That's my blue leon in front I think, planning on putting the footage up?
Not really, it's pretty boring stuff mostly. If you'd have crashed in a spectacular manner that'd have been very helpful, but no, you had to drive all proper and correct like :-)Thank you everyone who attended another superb Aldeburgh Fish'n'Chip Run
A huge thank you must go to MarkCSC for spearheading the organisation for this one, and many thanks to Digger for not only helping to lead a group, but also for sorting out our Tesco midway stop.
Thank you to Doug in the TVR Chimera for helping to lead a group.
Despite the iffy weather forecast, and indeed the changeable weather on the day, there was a fantastic turnout!
All my 2nd Leg route instructions went, so that means at least 60 cars came out to play.
My new Thetford to Stowmarket was enjoyable. Thanks to Tom for suggesting some new sections
The second leg was thoroughly enjoyable, and thankfully my first group didn't get held up by too much traffic.
A great mix of PH regulars and many new faces in a wide variety of vehicles made for an exciting day.
Some people got lost, and I am glad to hear the Puma driver and passenger were OK, but generally everything seemed to go well.
As ever, feedback in any form is always welcomed. We've already had some ideas to help improve the experience for next time.
I admit we need to work on the Tesco departure, however it is always difficult with so many vehicles and relatively few volunteer group leaders. We will give it some thought, though, and hopefully improve it for next year
As usual with the Runs, I was flitting about so much I missed a fair few of you, and only managed a simple greeting with many. Sorry if I didn't get to chat to you very much, but I hope we can remedy that in the future.
I did snap a few photos, and I will post a link when I have uploaded them.
My route home took me past AS Motorsport, so it was wonderful to stop by and have a chat with the couple of remaining people, and get a passenger ride in one of Andrew's creations - what an experience!
Next up to Duxford Spring Car Show, for which I now have TWO spaces remaining.
See you all again soon!
Darren
