Picked up my Cobra on Saturday after a horrendous wait of two months. Bought from Pistonheads classifieds & the sale could not have gone better - apart from the long wait which was mainly down to me scraping the cash together! eek

It's an AC Cobra replica - a Pilgrim Sumo with a Rover V8, Holley carbs & 15" Halibrand wheels. Tremendous noise! Cleared a space in the garage to house its beautiful curves & our cat has already taken up residence in the passenger seat..hmm.

Well, the best thing about it is definitely the noise & shape but there is a lot of work that needs doing to improve upon it & make it an even better machine.

The list of things to change is getting longer by the day....hehe

Drove it back from Essex on Saturday along the M25 & M11 at a safe 65mph - what an absolute joy! Thumbs-up from bikers, widened my already enormous grin! Not much fun going past lorries though! Scott was frozen through on the 90 minute journey, think we will invest in thermals & hats pretty sharpish.
Found myself sneaking down in the night to check it was still in the garage! Oh wow, it's so gorgeous.

Not very good pictures, especially the one of me freezing trying to keep it away from trees, verges, wildlife & anything static. What fun!

yum That's really nice! I especially like the yellow dials that go with the paint work. I've never seen a yellow and black on before, but it looks gorgeous!

Well done on the purchase, I hope it keeps you smiling for a long time to come!

I wanted to keep away from the blue with white stripes or reds that most people have. I never thought I'd ever buy a yellow car but I just fell swiftly in love with it when I went to view & I think it looks magnificent.

I only went to view because it was in Brentwood (Essex) where Scotts sister lives so could combine it with a visit - totally the wrong (or right?) thing to do, I was hooked & set about raiding piggy banks & MINI went up for sale the next day. I didn't really have my sensible head on that day (or since).

I knew that I wanted something different - the MINI was practical but I really believed that I'd reached its limits through trackdays - at the Honington day I was particularly dissatisfied with it as it wouldn't "pick-up" out of the narrow chicanes as quickly as I'd liked. RWD was the next step. Quite how I "stepped" to a Cobra is anyone's guess, bypassing far more reliable, warmer(!), safer and daresay, far quicker cars. My Cobra does need a lot of work doing to it to make it run smoother, there's a few things wrong with it! EBAY is becoming a good friend at present....hehe

Will definitely be tracking this when the engine's pepped up a bit - at the moment it struggles over 75mph. eek

Shall post something up on ECMC in a minute! rotate

Look at the concentration and the 10 to 2 driving position

Actually, more like ten to four!

(why do they do that?)

Ten to two, ten to four...I'm just hanging on!

Congratulations Hannah, that's an excellent addition to the PHEA fleet. I look forwards to seeing and hearing it soonest. Shirley it won't be you daily driver though?

I'm looking into getting an old (around X reg) Smart Car as my daily driver when a cheap one comes up. Got to pay the remainder of my tax bill first & looking for an accountant too (though not as a daily driver hehe).

Bought a 75,000 mile Rover V8 3.5 from Ebay last night for £150 from Nottingham & also injection parts/bits (plenum chamber, ecu, wiring loom) too for £70. Bargain!
15" Halibrands & tyres are going up on Ebay soonish so I can upgrade to 17"s Halibrands (they look VERY nice!) with nice Khumo tyres.

And don't call me Shirley.

Ah yes, the Toyota Accountant 1.0 L, a very sensible purchase.

Nice car, and nice V8 sound

Looks like my home town in the video, I live about 300 yards away. Do you live there Hannah? Wanna drag-race my 911 down Burrell Road?

Thanks, would love to but I think you'll beat me easily the way my engine's running currently!
I'm from Little Downham, near Ely. I went over to Huntingdon for a bit of a blast & Scott wanted to see a mate at one of the units on that industrial estate. Not too far away!

Hi,
so theres another cobra owner in East Anglia, hope to see you next year at one of the meetings,
Phil

Hi Phil! Scott has contacted you regarding your SUPERB megasquirt installation. I think he visits your site on average twice a day getting info - touch-wood we're attempting the first stage of our megasquirt this weekend....yes the RV8 is running so wrong at the mo!
Will definitely be along to some of the meets - there doesn't seem to be many in East Anglia on CobraClub - am I looking in the wrong place I wonder?

Hannah.

Think i saw you in your new motor today, about 4pm ish about to go under Ely bridge, heading towards Stuntney.
I didn`t see you untill the last minute. I had just dropped it into second, and floored it to give the two people walking under the bridge the shock of their lives laugh
I was in the red Griffith exiting the bridge in the opposite direction, with a big grin

Yes I saw you too! Was just out for a quick blast to recharge the battery - I saw the Griff coming out from the bridge and also dropped it into second to finish those young chaps off - very naughty. I do love that little bridge. Saw you grinning too. hehe
I just went to Soham and back to Lt Downham whilst Scott was working in the garage.
