........Run wink

OK Background - Mark and Darren do a great job of organising the run outs we have but it's unfair that another one is forced on them so as I kinda let slip my plans for the Royal Wedding Day (in case you didn't know it's the 29th April) and the proposal for a run out had some fans so lets discuss in a proper thread of it's own

BTW - Don't expect a polished plan from day one (I'm a kinda make it up as you go along person) - make suggestions and have an input on the day

Run plan (to be agreed - just my initial thoughts)

Plan A is coastal run with two Start points yikes (Thinking Kings Lynn and maybe Lowestoft/Yarmouth but could go further down the coast if required)

Meeting in the middle for maybe a pie and a cola and then the continuing the runs in opposite dirrections

Plan B - I don't have one jester

Hi

I could be up for it, depending on the car being serviceable, it is currently off the road with fuel leak.

Are you still going with Plan A? If so I am in Lowestoft, so would be happy to start from there.

Tony
Got any favorite roads that leave from Lowestoft and end up mid north Norfolk coast?

Still have a Plan A just can't seem to find a good driving route/road (the coastal one looks torturous)

Run plan

Lets start with two meeting points (More can be added or we can drop in on route)

A Team - Thetford - Sainsburys 9.15 am for 9.45 am departure

Route

A roads Thetford - mundford - Stradset - Narbourough
B Roads Narbourough - Gayton - running parallel to Kings Lynn - Hunstanton road (I like that bit of road used to use it all the time when I lived in Lynn to avoid the Lynn Hunstanton traffic jams)

A roads Hunstanton round the coast to somewhere close to Cromer

Lunch time break meeting up with the B-Team

Then reverse of whatever route is decided for the B-Team stopping at Yarmouth sea front for candy floss and ice cream

The B-Team then enjoying the reverse route taken earlier

B Team - Lowestoft - route to the coast to be confirmed but coast road to close to Cromer

I'm trying to avoid Cromer as a stop cos it's been used too much but it's a good back stop

Can the lowestoft Guys pick a location/time to meet?

A Thetford - Sainsburys 9.30 am

Plan B

Lowestoft group meet up

Pick up any one Norwich way say Thickthorn

Join the Thetford Group and we all do it in one direction

Just means a much earlier start for the Lowstoft and Norwich area peeps

Right I've emailed the lowestoft contingent to see if they'll join us for the start at Thetford

I'm thinking total mileage won't change the only downside is the boring roads from lowestoft > Norwich > Thetford (and they'll be close to home when the run ends)

Anyone I've missed of the list

BC - BMW 740
iluvmercs - Audi RS4
alb27 - Impreza
PetrolHeadSeb - Saxo VTS
KevF - Storm Trooper
Dan250 - Pocket Rocket Megane
Reaver1979 - Jetta VR6
Rodders2305 - Pink Civic
KelWedge - TVR Wedge
Baked_bean- E30 318is (for sale...)
Chilliman - TVR Chimaera (not for sale)
Dangerdaz - Clio 200 cup

I was planning to do this, but it seems very complicated rolleyes
(especially for a girl before you all say so!)

Where is the lunch stop please as I might join at lunch? If one hasnt been found yet, what about pub near Aylsham that Darren took us to on Jan 10 north norfolk/coastal winter run?
Hi purfect - where were you when we started the thread laugh It's probably a bit short notice to descend on that pub but was a great idea (I'd tried to avoid pubs as a result of the wedding saturation coverage that's likely to be going on)

Final Run plan

Meeting point - Thetford - Sainsburys 9.15 am for 9.45 am departure

Route

A roads Thetford - Mundford - Stradset - Narborough
B Roads Narborough - Gayton (and other villages) - running parallel to Kings Lynn - Hunstanton road (I like that bit of road used to use it all the time when I lived in Lynn to avoid the Lynn > Hunstanton traffic jams)
A149 roads from Old Hunstanton (ish) round the coast to Cromer

Lunch time break midday (ish) - Cromer Cliff top car park - say an hour to find some local refreshment and allow others to join

Rest of the coast road and a curious route to Yarmouth stopping at the sea front for candy floss and ice cream

Route Map now completed and will be handed out at the start point

(No step by step run instructions like the Daren/Mark combo priovide but if you can read a map that shouldn't be a problem laugh I hope)

I'll do some extra copies just in case (for anyone that arrives at the Cromer Cliff top car park)

Mind if I tag along for the morning part in a Cinquecento Sporting?

Only moved to Norwich recently, and only bought a car even more recently (Saturday!), wouldn't mind getting an idea of the better roads in the area from some pros. Need to be back in Norwich by about 1300 to meet my girlfried unfortunately though...

Sorry it's so laughably late,

Richard
More than welcome Richard - no car snobbery in the EA section (I've been known to do the odd run in a Polo and one of our "exotic" car owning PHr's does the occasional run in a Clio 1.1 of all things - I think it was a 1.1 cos the engine in the front was tiny)

Hi All,
Another great driving day, thanks to all who got us lost and found us, some roads I have done before but also some great new ones, shame I have no idea where they are.
Have to clean the flys off the car tomorrow and touch up the scraps om the front spoiler, the plate to protect the the silencer looks a bit more battered as well.

Thanks again to those who planned and were out in front.
