-Would you like to do it again?

Yep

-Would you go to Taupo or Manfield instead of Pukie?

Yes, but agree with XTR needs to be weekend as she some distance away.

-Were there too many cars / too few / just right (like Goldilocks). Would you prefer to pay less for more people, or vice-versa?

Could have gotten away with a few more at Pukie, just right for the present track at Taupo maybe few more on new track, Manfield maybe a few more ? It's nice to have other cars around every now and then to add a bit of interest. But still clear enough to focus on racing lines and lap times.

-Would you pay more for a weekend event?

Sure, but would this be for W/E events or extra's as list below ? I think the $ 150 - $ 200 is a max, as you will get limited interest if its a work day + more expensive. The time of year help this also.

-Was the unstructured format OK or would you have preferred that we actually had discrete groups as planned?!

Hard to say it seemed to work OK BUT mixing the faster with slow does add an element of risk with the fast er guys watching out for the slower and visa versa, Pukie is big enough to keep out of others way, passing etc (& not holding anyone up) but maybe different story for Taupo or a tighter track ?? Maybe a mix of the two with the feedom to move between the two faster/slower groups ??

-Would you like extras, such as instructors at the track, a slalom for part of the day, or food etc?

There's usually never any shortage of advice from the more experianced guys, but if you had the likes of Jensen B showed up I'd let him take me around ;-), no on the salalom but braking point markers etc would be good, I have a few road cones which I will bring next time. Food - no unless it was hassle free for you and others, e.g. - get a comapny for a nominal fee to put on bbq for casual lunch (runs from 12:00 - 2:00 so it's not to structured, you can stop when you want).

The great thing about the days was there was none saying when you had to start - stop, go here & there, nice casual, if you wanted to follow someone you just got together. Timing would be nice but hard to do with this format mabe + more cost. I think in car timing would be a better investment.

My 10 cents worth + GST

PS - XTR - BIG thanks for the use of the trailer, nice to meet Phil K, seems like he's onto something and he has the knowledge to back it up, keep me in the loop as things develope.

Bugger. Fully paid up member, how did you join?? The only reason why some people may miss their mail outs is due to not paying their annual subs on time. These people dont get their mail. But cause your new I will investigate and get the secretary to contact you.

I may be behind in paying as i joined, on your recommendation, Kylie, shotly(this is like shortly, only shorter) after buying the Fraster (TM* R*)but I've never received any regular newsletters and only communications have been to my "oy! wa's goin' on?". So i prob'ly need to re-join.
Lovely day, innit?

Too right.

We've mapped where Telecom is rolling out broadband using our digital-terrain model and it matches areas that have line-of-sight to the Sky Tower.

So rather than provide service to areas with no alternatives they're trying to kill off the competition . . . can you say 'anti-competitive behavior'

just out of interest, what field are you in to be using DTM's? (meaning digi terrain models, not german touring cars) We play around with them a bit as well (studying surveying at uni)

Well by training I'm a mechanical engineer (and did my research on bits that broke on America's Cup boats )

However I actually work as a planning manager for a local authority

Yes, yes . . . leaning on shovel . . . heard it all before

haha well I'm not gonna say anything too harsh about local authorities, as at the moment I'm doing asset management/GIS work for the DCC as a holiday job.

.......though they generally are pretty slack, or should I say 'relaxed' places to work at least at this end of the corporate ladder

I previously worked with the CEO at DCC (Jim) while he was in Auckland.

He had a pair of HOT Alfa's . . . and a collection of spare parts . . . and a collection of oil stains.

Are they an ESRI site ?
