These seem to have been revamped a month or so back and now have all manner of small cameras on them, anyone know if they are red light cameras?

It doesn't say they are and they are not big and yellow like red light cameras typically are, but having had cars run reds coming out of the cherry tree junction toward Miami roundabout, when i was going into town - the London road lights had gone green already - makes me wonder if these c*nts will be nicked?

if not RL cameras what are they for?

ah probably them...re. jumpers don't want to cast aspersion on the housing from that direction (indeed my lineage has that in it), but... all fits...

Old thread but I had an issue similar to the ones discussd today.

Coming from Moulsham street onto the roundabout. I get through the first set of lights on the London Road junction, but (not familiar wtih the roundabout), I find the next set of lights are very close and have already gone to red as I've gone through them. Absolutely did not mean to and have never gone through a red light before! Only thing I can think oif is the tree blocking the light on the roundabout, as it was only the other st of lights i saw on the left, not the right.
Different place. Cherry tree is a signalled crossroads.

Do you mean the miami/tesco roundabout?

But there is no exit from moulsham Street onto miami, moulsham Street joins New London Road opposite rising sun pub. New London Road joins the miami but not sure if that exit is signalled. The next set before tesco are.

Ok but moulsham Street doesn't join the RB new London Road or London Road (nkt sure what it's called...it may change along its length) joins it.

The signals before tesco then the next set before the britvic bridge are very close, if that's the ones you mean. But thought they was synced. People used to jump the reds there all the time too genrally. Haven't been that way in some time though to see if they still do. Since they messed thr Road layout up avoid at all costs.

The local mp is an idiotess.

The roundabout was fine until the recent lane changes that reduce capacity and cause tailbacks across the town.

She is dumb as hell....likely the yellow team will replace her shortly soon though.

Lane changes at least reduce the crazy launches off the roundabout towards Galleywood, and segregate the Tesco traffic...red light cameras on that roundabout would probably generate a small fortune.
that wont be an improvement sadly, a party who campaign at a local level contradictory to there policies at a national level...

what a choice we have.

the 'crazy' launches are what kept the flow going!

now its one lane off london road straight ahead and you get stuck behind some hesitant driver and your done, backs up till lower anchor street. the tescos lane completely unneeded as the traffic filtered fine from 2 into 3 up wood street. most ignore the tescos lane anyway, and most coming from wood street to london road ignore the lines and encroach on the right hand only lane.

a prime example of terrible road planning.

I must admit I've not noticed Tesco gridlock since the lane change, so from a local residents perspective the changes don't all seem to be bad...you are spot on about the impact a dawdler can have on NLR though. Too many people and not enough capacity, which will only get worse as more housing is built I guess frown
And your last point, with a Manchester sized city being needed every couple of years due to pop growth it will only get worse under the yellows or red, not that the blues have done anything about it.

Sandon countryside next to be bulldozed and built on it seems.

but there's a single specific reason for the crazy demand and all the knock on impacts on infrastructure, unsustainable imo, which none of them will address. but lets not get on to politics!

Lot going in at Sandon on the quiet. land around Lathcoats farm and land arounf C'ford GC will be gone in next 10 years too. Horrific
