Does anyone know of any secure garages/lockups around the Amersham area. I'm in the process of moving to Amersham and where I'm moving I wont have anywhere secure for my Skyline.

I need to sort out something in the next couple of weeks otherwise I may be forced to sell my car which i really do not want...

HELP !!!!!!

I wouldn't flatter yourself too much - a Skyline won't stand out too much in Amersham (so long as you're moving to the correct parts of Amersham!).

Try contacting Chiltern District Council www.chiltern.gov.uk/site/index.php

Unfortunatly the person I'm moving in with (relative) wont allow me to keep it outside the house and I'm not about to leave it on the roadside, which aparantly the neighbours wont like as well. They have know I have the car and I'd arranged to move in ages ago, yet only about a week away from the move they now decide I cant keep my car there, but its ok, I can keep my citroen ax work car there !!

It attracts a hell of a lot of attention as its bright blue and really stands out in a crowd.

Thanks for the link, will have a looksee.....

To say I'm hacked off is something of an understatement

I have to say I fully agree. As long as it's taxed, insured and MOT'd you can park it where you like. And why would the neighbours object?

I agree totally with what you guys are saying, unfortunatly as I have to live with my relative and if they are saying they wont let me do it then I dont have a lot of choice. I need a place to live and currently thats my only option while I'm saving for a place of my own. I cant afford to rent a place of my own just yet and it'll be about a year or so until i can. I'm pretty much stuffed currently

What's it to them- it's not like it's an MOT failure is it! Is it a lack of space or are they just being difficult?

Its a smallish housing estate but there is enough space round the corner for on road parking, after all the only car i want to park on the road is my Citreon AX. There is one allocated space which I could use for the Skyline. Both cars are fully taxed, MOT'd etc etc. Its just them being difficult !!

What's their beef with the 'Liner?

Its not so much the car as the fact I have two cars, one for work and another for fun. Two cars = not enough space for both of them and the neighbours will complain if i park one on the road nearby......

If i thought i could afford to run the skyline as a daily driver then I would, but as we all know they are not exactly fuel efficient !!

I wish it were that easy. It does'nt seem to matter which car I park on the road, I'll still get moaned at aparantly. Gonna try and sort something out by the end of the week.....

Whilst i appreciate your need to have somewhere to live for a while, i find it outrageous that neighbours can object to this sort of thing. You can park where you jolly well like, subject to parking restrictions, yellow lines etc etc.

Could you not get rid of the Citreon and just use the Skyline for work and pleasure?

Well its kinda funny you should say that.....

I had my Citroen written off yesterday morning on the way to work. Had someone pull out right in front of me whilst I was driving along the main A413 out of Aylesbury. Was'nt a high speed impact but enough to instantly write it off !!

I've got to replace it as in the Skyline I'd be using £100 at least of fuel a week and I cant afford that currently. I'm hopefully getting a job closer to London and I dare'nt drive the Skyline there every day just in case it gets damaged or vandalised.

Oh well, anyone know of any cheap cars for sale, lol !!

I agree with what you say though, there are no yellow lines on the roads where i'm going etc etc... Its just people making life difficult for others

Sorry to hear of your accident mate - i know the road well. I fully understand you not wanting to take the skyline into London and parking up there - a few days and your wing mirrors would be hanging off and there would be some indented 'go faster' stripes along the side courtsey of a London Bus or white van

Tony,

Would Wendover be too far to travel to park it?

I'm back there on Sunday and could have a quick look around and see if there are garages about near my folks.

Hi Phill

If you have the time that would be great, anywhere between Amersham and Aylesbury is ideal really as I will have to travel back through Aylesbury at weekends to my girlfriends in Potters Bar.

I'm going to be checking amersham out over the weekend hopefully, have loads of stuff to get done including keeping an eye out for a new car now, lol !!

Many thanks

Tony

Thanks for all your kind offers of help, Its really refreshing to find a great bunch of people willing to lend a hand to someone that you've never met before.

I've decided that I'm going to try and find somewhere else to live other than with my so called 'relative' Have been round there tonight and they are flatly refusing to allow me to have two cars even with one parked on the road. I think its going to be more trouble than its worth.

All i have to do now is see if I can find a room to rent around Amersham/Chesham or the Chalfonts preferably with one proper parking space and roads around where the replacement work car will go. For now I'm not going to replace my AX until I have sorted accomodation out. Then i can think about sorting that and if I can only get limited parking, then maybe sell the Skyline and get something cheaper to run as an only car....

Oh for an easy life.... or a win on the Euromillions tonight !!

Tony,

There is a Let's Rent place in Wendover on the London Road that might be able to help. (its not far from Threshers on the top of the high street.

Phill

Cheers Phill

I've spotted that as I've been through wendover. Been on there website as well.

Problem I have is I cant afford to rent a flat all by myself, it would cripple me financially on my current salary. My best bet is to rent a room from someone like you see in the paper.

I'll have a looksee if I'm free for the Crooked Billet event. If i'm free I will try and make it along. Would be good to meet some fellow P/Headers other than than the couple i already have..
