Nick did you used to have a modified blue Clio?

If so its Kipper here! You managed to get yourself a 182 as planned then!

Not bad, i've finished uni now and working full time. Just about to move in with my better half next week so things are looking good!

I see you've got out of the Pub business now.

I've started to think about getting a 172 but it all depends on whether or not I can afford the loan repayments once I move out of home. Whats the damage on the insurance? You were paying a small fortune for your last Clio weren't you?

On my last car i was getting my pants pulled down because of my age. At the moment im paying just over £1,200 fc with 2 years NCB and driving for 2 years with all mods declaired. However my renewel is coming up soon so should be arround £800ish which for a 20 year old isnt too bad. Firecreast was supposed to be temporary, but ended up staying there untill march time to help pay off the car and give me bit more cash to play with as its 12k service was due in jan. On the look out for a cheap 5 gtt now as a project car!

Who's that with?

Churchill quoted me £585 for a £6k car (23, 4years protected NCD etc) at my parents house but when I move it would go up to £800ish!

Fancy going for a beer one evening (and taking me for a drive?). I've been out in a friends Trophy but not experienced a normal 172/182.

Elephant.co.uk and bell.co.uk were the cheapest for me. Im with elephant at the moment.

Mine didnt really feel any different from driving a trophy apart from the seats when standard, but now ive got apex springs on which give quite a harsh ride but give a good 40mm drop. Also my exhaust and I/K combined is pretty loud so it wouldnt be fair to compare with a trophy.
The expensive trophy suspension only really comes into its own on track where the car gets abused alot.

Sure ill take you out for a spin. Are you going to dustable downs meet? Im gunna have a ride up for that as ive never been to a PH meet before. If you havnt already then check out www.cliosport.net Alot of usefull info is on there.

I've been having a look around cliosport.net - Some useful info on there!

Not going to this Downs meet as i'm moving house that day so i'm not allowed out to play - I was at the last one though and it was good fun even in the rain!

They're a good bunch - they take the piss a lot though!

Yeah we normally have a yearly meet at the Crooked Billet which I organise. Need to try and organise another meet soon (it was bit difficult to do it when I was at uni!)

The DD meet is really good though - some very nice roads and you won't have a problem keeping up. The pace is quick but not excessive - Anyway you always end up getting held up by the 40mph brigade at some point!

If you do make it to the DD meet nick, dont rely on phill here giving you the date, as he tends to get it wrong laugh

How've you managed to get your insurance down by 400 quid in a year? I wouldn't have thought an extra years NCB would make that much of a difference.
Phill, I don't mind sorting out coming over your way one night if you want a blast in the car, work in MK so sure we cvould find somewhere inbetween

I managed to get my premium to drop from about £1300 to £660 in 3 policies (first at 22 with 2 years no claims) on my S3 so it's not impossible.

Hi all,

Live in Caterham, work in Guildford/Godalming.

Used to drive a black 182 with recaros - loved it but just sold it to my dad!
Nice to see a few 172/182 owners on here, all off cliosport.net i imagine!

Now just purchased a E36 M3 Convertible in Daytona Violet with Hardtop. So far its awsome fun but nowhere near as chuckable around the b-roads as my 182 was. I suppose i never bought it for that reason though!

How's it going Jester7. Nice fleet. You must have some serious off road parking!

Don't suppose you've noticed me in my white kit car. Check out my profile for a pic. Or a year or so ago, purple beach buggy driving around Slough?
