Oxon, Berkshire, Bucks weekend drive / meet?
Discussion
May as well! I'm in Oxford too.
Having to pull out as needing to shuttle up to care home at weekends now for a while as elderly parent not so good. I've moved RZ1 onto the top 10, have a great time.

Depending on how this weekend goes we can look to do something more frequently, the difficulty is trying to find somewhere good for all to start / finish.
I shall email out tonight the route for this coming Sundays drive. Look forward to meeting you all, weather looks decent too.

Illmonkey I'm afraid to say yes that was indeed me. I was sat queuing stationary in traffic on a dual carriageway and some clown in a polo rear ended me at 50mph. Just got back from a and E but not after waiting 2 hours for recovery.
So needless to say it is with huge regret that I am going to have to postpone this weekends drive. I don't think it will be as much fun in whatever courtesy car I will be given! Absolutely gutted that my lovely supercharged R32 is unlikely to be on the road again. I wouldn't want it back to be honest, will never drive the same again. Glad I sunk £5k into the car to get the clutch, chains and pistons sorted in January and 5 mins before brimmed the tank with V power.
Currently at home with whiplash, sore back and arm and not looking forward to spending the day on the phone tomorrow speaking to insurance companies. On the other hand, it does mean I can partake in one of my other favourite past times, looking for a new car.
Sorry chaps, it wasn't to be, but hope to rearrange again soon.

Engine swap is 1 days labour at a specialist garage (to get engine out of both cars and re-fit your old one to the new one). Haven't done an R32 but a friend of mine can rip the TFSI engine out in 2 hours and they are not that different.
If you did want to go down this route AKS Tuning will probably be able to do it in 10 to 11 hours of labour. They charge £66 per hour but may do a slight discount for a bulk buy, it would be a huge shame to see it go to waste, unless you get enough money back from the insurance company to cover your recent outlay.
Then you can just sell the new engine/shell on to the garage or stick it on Ebay and leave it somewhere!
If not, then maybe a chance to try that new car you've been looking at but haven't thought to actually buy yet!
