Thanks K, And as an aside has anyone had the pleasure of eating at the Haut Boy In Ripley?
I have to be there on Saturday and have never been before so a heads up would be good. Oh yes and while i am on the subject, the Talbot Hotel Ripley?
I hate being forced to attend these things but I have to obey every now and then.

We used to have the Surrey TVRCC meets there (and at the Talbot many moons ago, more anon). Initially the food at the HB was excellent, but a bit on the dear side, more recently prices have gone up and quality has fallen. As Charlie says, the portions are not huge for some of the dishes. The car park is a bit tight if you've got big numbers in your group to cope with. The food prices have prompted us to move to the Woolpack in Elsted, which has been excellent so far and the prices are much better. The decor is not as nice as the HB yet, but Les the new Landlord is working through the place and seems very motivated. The welcome is certainly excellent.
We used to meet at the Talbot in Ripley and it had shocking service and was generally a miserable place to be, maybe it's improved by now (a few years later), I've not been back to know. We later moved on to the Jovial Sailor (Miserable Mariner), after the Talbot, at the other end of Ripley. The manager their was not keen on our car based meets, but I gather he's gone now.
HTH,
Steve.
Spoke to Tim, the landlord tonight, to warn him about our get together, says he'll reserve a couple of tables for us. When you enter the bar, turn left, walk forwards 10 feet, you have arrived. I'll be there about 7:45 ready for the 8pm deluge of SAS PH'ers. Really not sure how many people are going to turn up but we can gradually take over what is a small-ish pub, cheers Geoff aka Rad1cal
