The Rangie has gone ... what next?

There is a guy who lives on the road behind my house who has practically turned his garden into car dealership! ![eek](/inc/images/eek.gif)
He built a garage that is used to tart cars up, then parks them in his garden (room for about 20 cars) all of which cannot be seen from the front of his house as he has huge metal gates in the way and then when a buyer comes along he takes the car outside onto the road and sticks homemade for sale signs on them.
Oddly enough the council weren't interested as it would be deemed as racially motivated if we dobbed him in..?!?![confused](/inc/images/confused.gif)
Let us see if the taxman is interested!![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Just remember things like 750's and C43's don't sell easily... whereas with a 535/540/740/E55 there is usually a more receptive market.
Thanks Pete. What do we think this well sorted 735 linky

It is a real shame John, because you found a good one there. I left a mesage for the bloke earlier, and he did call me back. He was a "heavily accented" gentleman, who explained that he and the car are in Leeds. Its just a step too far to drive up there on spec. So am giving that one a miss.
I do like the look of this 735 though, but i don't know anything about that engine. I suppose it must be fairly solid - V8, and there are loads with 120k+ miles being advertised, so me adding 20k to the 85k shouldn't do any harm.
And this evenings additions to Autotrader... ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
Audi A8 4.2 Quattro? Interior on these is to die for...
740i?![cloud9](/inc/images/cloud9.gif)
A bit left field...
LEXUS GS 3.0SE with a '2 YEAR WARRANTY' apparently?
Check out this pimping mobile!![rofl](/inc/images/rofl.gif)
Surprise!
(scarily cool though...
)
Can't believe you can get one of these for sub £6k! Easily overlooked as a Ford but quick and loves the twisties or the motorway...

hi all,,
for my two penith on the c43 its a good car but i always found them to be very fidgity and tramliney
on a straight run, compared to my old e36 m3, if i was going for an amg it would have to be the wdb210 e55 amg for one the e class has a steering rack, were as the c43 has recirculating ball steering box
it just drives so much better than a c43 trust me, but if you do look into one check for rust especially around the front roadspring mounts as of all mercs from that era rustproofing can be questionable, but there are some good priced 55's out there,

Agree with the A8, but that one is again too far away for me.
The 740 is just down the road, so i will go to see it tomorrow.
The Lexus just doesn't do it for me (i'm still young at heart
![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
That Cadillac, oh boy who could live with that interior for any journey longer than 5 miles
BUT.. the Mondeo, that is very interesting.
So,
the shortlist is now
The Mondeo. A real wildcard, but could win through
The 740 above, although i think the 2001 735 below may be a better deal,
and these two
A6 4.2 Quattro This will help me decide between A8 and A6
2001 735 This is sooo tempting
Off shopping tomorrow
![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
Thanks for all your help

Well if your really not sure you can try the Suzuki Grand Shitara I have from work 0-60 use a calendar, 60-0 some time later than expected and it handles like a boat so would be like your old Sealine!!!
Ill let you know about the mile munching have to go to preston and back tomorow, It even has the usual suzuki cruise control (its so slow you just wedge the pedal down!)

That would be Mrs E1DJH's car ![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)

A great car, only 65k miles, and she loves it. If i took that one, i'd have to buy her a replacement, and that would be much more expensive than doing it this way round

Not sure if it quite fits the non chavvy bit but a great car if you can get one at a decent price. The low volumes in the UK mean it could reasonably hold its value. Big gamble though as it is a Vauxhall at heart and they drop quicker than a turkey at Bernard Matthews.
Too pricey for what i'm looking at Neil. BTW, will you be out on Sunday £££ Not sure if it quite fits the non chavvy bit but a great car if you can get one at a decent price. Sadly, the Audi has gone, but i'm heading over to Abingdon see the Beamer.
At less than £6k for a 2001 fully loaded 735, with 86k miles, it does look an absolute steal, but i wonder whether it needs the extra oomph of a 740?
I think he will be impressed with my purchasing power as i turn up in a 1.2 Corsa![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

This is a real stab in the dark but I've always wondered how good these are:

Passat W8.
4.0 V8
4wd
300bhp
Relatively light against the 7 and 5 series.
Again, no idea on the handling or performance but they were an odd car for VW to release and have always enticed me on the Q car factor.
