Blackbushe airport turns into a film set for 5 months!

Wow, trip down memory lane for me, especially the Hunt car.
In a previous life I was responsible for marketing the official James Hunt jacket which celebrated his World Title.
IIRC it was that model of car we had James sitting on and wearing the jacket for our promo shots when McLaren were based in Hounslow.
Those were the days when motorsport merchandise was in its infancy - would that I was still involved.
Halcyon days!
Cheers, Pewe.

Never knew McLaren were in Hounslow, I remember seeing "a" McLaren property in Green Lane, was that them?In a previous life I was responsible for marketing the official James Hunt jacket which celebrated his World Title.

Onyx ^^, since you mention it they were actually based at Colnbrook in the Teddy Mayer era i.e before the Ron era. I seem to recall us using a open space at the end of their industrial estate for photography. Thus it must have been Colnbrook as there were planes constantly passing overhead taking off from Heathrow.

I think in the'60's they started off at the back of Feltham High street.Cheers,Pewe.
I've been following Ron Howard on Twitter and really enjoying seeing the pics from the various filming sets.
One thing that has struck me though is how immaculate the cars always look. Clean and shiny even in wet weather and every panel gap perfect etc. I wonder how they'll make sure the scenes don't look to sanitised?

Such a shame, hopefully they can repair it. Just seen this on twitter, I think the film could well turn out to be rather good!
