Bogus plates are less obvious than none...They have been positioned to allow you to deviate routes, as well as stop at certain points on the way if required. Easily manipulated. Once past the first one on Gole Rd, a brief stop at the Gole Farm entrance before then commencing a set route enthusiastically will see you out of any prosecutable route. There are route options, as I suspected, that can be taken that buck the system. You just need to study the camera positions and route options.
Does anyone know when these cameras will be working? At the moment the speed limit changes 3 times between Mytchett & Pirbright so they are not doing anything other than slow down people who are not aware they are not live.
If these really are to improve safety you would think they would be up and running as soon as they were installed. Its been dragging on for a year now since they started installing the signs.

They are working. I've worked it out. There is no speed limit change and the cameras only cover the 40 section ( the 30 is not covered and the presumption is owing to the bends people can't do more than 40 anyway ). Hence you have a stretch of monitored 40, followed by a stretch of unmonitored bendy 30, back into a stretch of monitored 40. Consequently, I go hell for leather through the 30 stretch and have fun on the actual bends.
That said, there is also a way of bypassing the system as I suspected, where you drive the route incorporating Vapery Lane / Stanley Hill and switch between the 2 different routes. You can druve the entire of Grange Rd, turn right at the end, and then head down to the bridge and turn left, again bypassing the system.

I mean, they absolutely can’t be active yet, can they, with a 30,40,60 limit all in scope. That’s not how they work, nor how the law works. Unless it uses both cameras on a single pole….but then it’s only average speed over 100yds or so….
Proof that nobody reads a single thing on this forum. The cameras are live. They cover only the 40mph stretch. You don't use average speed on a 30mph road.
You will note that the cameras are placed to cover each end of each 40mph stretch without any interruption on speed limits. You will also note that the 30mph stretch has no coverage at all.
