For those of you that use the area good news. I got this mail today from the council, for those of you that do not use the area, there are speed ramps along the road.

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of a decision which has
been taken on the proposals for Cressex Road, High Wycombe. You have
received this e-mail as a result of you forwarding me your e-mail address at
the exhibition/via the questionnaire.
Following the public exhibition of the proposed scheme in Summer 2004, which
involves the removal of the existing speed cushions and the implementation of
a central island/pedestrian refuge scheme, the results of this consultation
showed a large support for the proposals of around 85%.
To view the proposals for Cressex Road visit the Buckinghamshire County
Council website at www.buckscc.gov.uk then select Travel and Transport, Road
Safety, Local Safety Schemes and clicking on the link for Cressex Road. Here
you will find background information on the reasons for the scheme, photos of
the road and the drawings showing the proposed scheme. The website is now
slightly out of date but will be updated next week.
The scheme will now progress to the detailed design stage and the scheme will
start on site on 28 March 2005. Further details of how the scheme will be
constructed, including any road closures/diversion routes will be publicised
nearer the time. As part of the detailed design stage, trial pits will be
undertaken in early December 2004 to check for the presence of statutory
undertakers equipment and this will involve the use of off peak temporary
traffic signals, although any delays are expected to be minimal.

I think, everytime they remove a speedhump, the original w*nker who said 'yes, put the there' should pay out of their own pocket the cost of the install and removal.
It was a very busy road until they put humps there, then it turned into one of the quietest.
All they have to do now is get rid of all the ones on the Daws Hill/Flackwell-heath road/straight bit, and another main artery is transformed from a backwater.
I am with you on that, they are really dangerous for bikers ( lots of complaints in the "star" ).
