Apart from the usual Pickfords etc regulars.. anyone know of a sort of father & son type firm that may be a bit cheaper? The 1 toughy is an upright piano; other than that usual clobber. Not moving too far either.

Ed, what about hiring a van, and getting a couple of mates to help- shouldn't be more than £80 for the van plus a few pints for your mates?

Did that last time, a couple of years ago.. one of them still hasnt recovered he reckons! Took 3 of us to do the piano, and about half a day & if this move goes ahead it'll be a single day jobby.. great fun

Where are you heading to Ed?

..if it all goes through..

We found that a small cold wonky semi in Stoke Row with slugs in the kitchen (shhhhh..)= a nice big detached warm house with a big garage in Tilehurst, 50 yards away from the British Legion so will save a small fortune on a Saturday night too. We were bit concerened about traffic & noise, but it's the far end of a no through road & in fact seems a fair bit quiter than our current 'peaceful' rural spot. Tut. It also seems far away from the bits i gather its good to be far away from (did a graffiti walk around & nothing to speak of). Also... this is a very good bit for me.. means I should have some toy money after the dust settles. Am thinking V8, obv.

Tilehurst is still Tilehurst

Good Luck, you'll need it!

We'll see... difficult to really know without being there for a bit. Met the neighbours & they were charming
