Just a bit quicker than 1.25 Fiesta then
Possibly!
(dont forget the 16v bit)
The Mrs has got the ZETEC-S a cracking car and would give my Tuscan a hard time in the right conditions

Yeah, I guess you'd struggle to get anywhere near that average speed and keep your licence.
Having said that I did manage Docklands to Hove in 48 minutes once in the Griff
Julian
Were we in convoy coming out of Brighton a few months back? A convoy shot off some were and we got lost in Brighton? Tony and Blue Tuscan T88CAN?

Considering i came from a 205 gti 1.9 i am surprised how good this little car is. I really enjoying caining the arse off it to be honest! The engine is so sweet to rev
At the moment insurance is the killer, but in 18months when I have a good wad of NCD behind me I would definatly look at a zetec-S

Fiesta Z-S was a cracker... had a fully loaded one in Imperial Blue
Out handled everything in it's class, and could shame quicker machinery on the twisties with a bit of commitment..
Mate of mine transplanted the 1.7VCT Puma engine into his... which is what Ford should have done... the extra 25bhp and Variable Cam Timing made it a brilliant little thing.

Guess mine was the 2.8i Capri.
Dad used to own a Ford garage and we always had one as a run around. The best one ever was a Tickford Turbo conversion that when I was about 18 was allowed to run around in, how I still have a license is incredible.
I once made Chandlers Ford to Hayling in something like 10 - 15 mins along the M27 racing a big Kawasaki
I saw an indicated 155mph in that thing.
I have a 2.8i Brooklands parked up in my lottery garage.
Maybe too Hayling but then it would have taken you 4 hours to make it across the Island.....
Walking is quicker, or even better windsurf
I had a Zs too and after i dropped it 40mm on coils and dampers and added a few mods to the engine, it would happliy see off mondy and veccy 2.0's off right up to licence losing figures
I was sorry to let it go when i got my current car to be very honest, as it was a fantastic car to chuck about. even had it on donnington park
It should have been 150 ish bhp from the factory though to take advantage of it's excellent chassis.
Fave ovals of all time, hmmmmmmmmmmmm i've seen many
Rs200 evo
rs cosworth with Rouse refinishing in R304 guise
rs 500
The big capris were nice, but i always felt a little uneasy in them
saving deposit up for the focus Rs cosworth as i type

Mk2 Escort - 2 door
Just adore the look, had 3 already and I'm still quite young (20, just). Have to get either a BDA or Millington powered one in the future.
Other favourites
Capri Mk1 and Mk2, Cortina Mk1 and Mk2, and Anglia 105/123.
Any Cosworth powered Ford needs a mention purely for tunability.

The top threehave to be
First - > GT40 (Work of Art and eats Ferraris for Breakfast)
Second - > RS200 (truely superb machine , all engines should be in the boot)
Third - > The prototype GT90 (started the angular trend seen on all new fords, dont drive one though (limited to 40mph and handles like a banana on an ice rink "Apparently")
