I assume you mean the Focus, or are the CSA about to knock at the door? hehe

If its the former, yeah it's good. Will start a thread when I hit 1000 miles.

It's going on a rolling road (part of an RR day on another forum) this coming Saturday. I last had it on the same rollers a couple of years ago and it developed 232bhp. Since then it's had me modify the air intake slightly and the JP exhaust. Oh and new plugs I think. What do we reckon? More, the same, or less? hehe

Edited by Howard- on Monday 11th November 08:53
More! How much did you get?

My ST220 got 234 totally standard, and on the same rollers a couple of years previously, a mate's had clocked 236 (also stock) along with my old 330ci reading 222 on the same day. I remember being a bit gutted at the time...
Interested to know too.

The JP was designed to reduce the kinks and bends in the standard system with a view that it should flow better - but no claims were ever made that it did anything to the performance.

What are people's thoughts on this one?

Just found this FORD MONDEO via Auto Trader http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2014...
The ST500 limited edition seats was the Fiesta and Focus - not the Mondeo. They were available as an option, but they are not Limited Edition.

Looks like Xenons, and Sat Nav - certainly check the firmware and map date on these, and that it works since a new aerial and base is about £70.

Red lined mats are from a later (2006/7 facelift) but will fit without issue.

Check it actually has bluetooth by pressing the Phone button. If it mutes the stereo, it doesn't have it.

Thanks for the reply! Is the rear glass tinted as standard or is that aftermarket? Looks abit dark for my liking!
Privacy glass was an option at some point, but not sure when that came in without checking an old brochure.

Not enough interior photos to comment further really. There may be Rear Seat Audio (RSA) or heated rear seats - although the latter was usually on 05 facelift cars as an option.

Looks like a fair bit of wear on the drivers seat bolster.

I'd echo all that almost word for word when comparing my st220 with the 330ci sport that it replaced but I've had nothing done to the suspension (so far). Could be interested in looking into that although it handles rely well already and id be a bit nervous about insurance implications...sure it's doable though

Edited to say: st220 was not heavier than the 330ci, it was actually a bit lighter

Hi mate,
If you were going to lower it using Eibach springs (40mm front,30mm rear), then I don't think you would have to even declare it to insurance. The reason for that is because these springs were offered as an optional extra at the time by Ford. Therefore, some cars have them as standard, while others don't, but then upgrade later like me. In fact, I even bought my springs direct from Ford!
The 220 is lower than the rest of the range, so it's only a 10-15mm drop.

I pop by every now & then wink Usually when I have nothing to do!!!! How's the Focus? I found myself drawn to one outside Tesco's the other week but sadly have to spend all my money on house renovations!!
I really like the Focus, and it's pretty nippy. smile

I do miss the 220 though. Whilst the Focus is quicker, it doesn't feel as well built and I miss the cruise and auto dipping rear view mirror (which I could probably retro fit).

Everyone knows the Focus (not hard, it's bright fking Orange) whereas the Mondy was just that bit more discreet. Pros and cons...

I think the 220 is criminally underrated.

The advert doesn't give a lot away about spec but it looks a nice example and potentially worth a look.
Looks nice.

Heated rear seats, rear parking sensors - although hard to tell if they're Xenons from the pictures. Highish mileage though.

Just spoke to the seller. Lights are Xenons which is nice, mileage is high but he's only done 4000 in the 2 years he's owned it. And it's only a few miles up the road from me.
Certainly worth a look then.

Over £7k, no tax, no MOT and cheapo crappy rubber mats?

Looks very tidy and well kept though.

Yeah, does seem ridiculously expensive even though it's very low mileage.
Parking sensors a useful option, heated rear seats are quite rare - as is the sunroof. No details on the Nav disc (circa £200 for a genuine upgrade). Doesn't look like a brake upgrade and no details on the exhaust system.

With tax and MOT I reckon it's a £5500 car.
