if the car is under 3 years old mate it should be covered under warranty , the ex got palmed off with that one untill i jumped in and gave them grief , ford dealers really do sprout some crap at times .

I didn't really give it much thought at the time.
My previous car was new from Motorpoint, UK spec imported from Belgium. These come with a two year warranty only.
The car went in for the work about a month before expiry, but the dealer said Ford said it had expired nine months earlier.
Seems that a batch of cars had been sold to a dealer in Belgium, who held them for several months then sold them to Motorpoint. In those circumstances, the warranty starts from the date Ford sell to the original Belgian dealer.
Accoring to Ford, this is how warranties work in Belgium.
But I have to wonder if they were bullshitting to nail me for buying an import.

So, it really is an import which had a 24 month warranty, even if it had of been a UK supplied vehicle the warranty coverage would have expired. But it looks like it had a warranty repair by Polar motor company this year

Holy kipper...how did you do that?
I bought it new in September 2003.
Bit of a rip off, starting the warranty in October 2002. I think the EU monkeys would have something to say about that.
How did it have a Ford warranty claim this year? I part exchanged it into a Ford dealer, who passed it immediately to an independent trader.
