Sourcing a 2 litre twin cam (8 valve + weber) unit
Discussion
Can someone who knows their way around Ford Engines help me out please?
I’ve got an MGB Roadster with a Ford 2 litre Twin Cam engine in it, which is an excellent & straightforward conversion. It’s the 8 valve engine with a twin choke weber, dual mass flywheel, and 5 speed manual box. I’m after another one to put in a BGT.
The guy who did the conversion tells me that this set up came from a late Sierra, but every 2 litre Sierra I’ve looked at has the Injected engine. Was he mistaken? Is this a version of the 'Pinto' engine, or something else?
Which Fords had the 8 valve carburated engine?
Many thanks

the carb version, the first version of this engine only came out for 1990,
after that they were all fuel injection, excactly the same apart from the head as you probably know,
I can tell you that they were extremely hard to find when they were only 2-3 years old
so I would guess that now they are even harder to find, why not use the fuel injection engine or rebuild yours?
