Installing a new boot lid (Fiesta ST) - Questions.
Discussion
Hi,
Managed to reverse my car into a post today and dented in the boot lid, I've managed to source a new one from a breakers yard which I'll hopefully be collecting tomorrow. Just have a few questions...
How hard will it be to remove my old one and install the new one?
Since it's from the same car (Moondust silver Fiesta ST, both 55 plates), am I likely to have much issue with colour matching?
My current rear window has tinted glass and the new one doesn't, would it be cheaper to get the window tinted or pay someone to simply cut out my old glass and fit it onto the new boot?
And finally..
Am I likely to experience any issues with either the remote locking or shut lines?
Thanks

Thanks for the help!
The boot lid I bought came with all the old wiring/motors etc still in it so I left those in. What I ended up doing was tracing the old cable down through the roof lining and found it disconnected behind the rear-quarter window. Pulled this out and routed the new cabling down now it's working fine
Really easy way of doing it now I know how and am glad I did it instead of dismantling both lids. Only problem I have is I don't know how to change the lock barrels so atm I can only open it using the remote locking

Hi, I recently bought a fiesta mk6 Petrol, Ghia with a smashed in bootlid.
Do all mk6 bootlids fit?
I sourced a tailgate from a breakers, it was from a zetec tdci. Fitted it and did all the wiring but it won’t latch on and close properly. Is there a way to adjust the boot or could it be a wrong fit? It’s seems only mm out but it just won’t lock
Hi, yes all boot lids are the same right through the range. Sounds to me like you need to mess with the alignment of the latch, remove the plastic trim on the bottom of the boot opening (Above the rear bumper), and you can undo the latch to adjust it slightly (This is from memory, sold my mk6 2yrs ago but I had it in bits many times).Do all mk6 bootlids fit?
