I recently picked up a 17 plate Fester ST but now the mornings and evenings are dark for my commute I’ve noticed the headlights really aren’t up to the job. Even on their highest setting they just don’t project far enough and are not bright enough, to the point where trying to drive down country lanes at anything like the speed limit requires full beam. Ive owned plenty of other cars (with and without Xenons) and never experienced anything as bad as this.

Does anybody have any sensible suggestions? Upgrading bulbs etc?

Cheers guys, new bulbs ordered - hopefully a nice easy job for Saturday. If anyone is interested I'll do a before and after pic post?

Other than that, thread can be closed

You really didn't need to buy any new bulbs. Just get the dealer to physically raise the setting in the engine bay with a torxs or screw driver, like in the old days when people actually worked on a car.
Mine were the same.....20 foot in front of the car was daylight, anything beyond was black. Now I hardly use my main beam and there is no dazzle for on coming cars as they are only set at the max height on an mot light box.
To be honest, given the distance and time it would take my dealer to sort this it is far cheaper and easier to stick in 20 quids worth of new bulbs.... smile

Why go to the dealer to turn the adjustment screws a few notches?
5 mins on google will tell you the adjustment screw to turn
I always do mine so that highest on the knob is a little too high, lowest is rubbish, so easy to get right setting for all eventualities ,
5 mins & free
Point taken - but doesn't change the fact that the original bulbs are less bright than one of the cast of TOWIE.
