Just to get this one kick-started:

Escort Cosworth - keep it absolutely standard, or go for big brakes, new suspension, stage 1 engine upgrade?
The heart is saying upgrade away, the head is saying stick with the pure original, they are now few and far between.

Over to you lot!

Yeah, original. It's a Monte Carlo version - only around 80 RHD versions, and many I've seen have been modded.

Thing is, big brakes and suspension wouldn't be too much trouble, and would look identical (Montes have different alloys to handle big brakes, I'm told). It's the engine upgrade that's trickier to call.

How many miles on the clock?

Know someone with a mint condition, 6k miles, big turbo job... oh, and he's selling up soon!

64k so far. Your mate's should fetch £20k I guess with that sort of mileage. What colour/reg./trim is it?

It'll be one of the last big turbos then, with Lux pack. Very nice! As I said, judging by prices in auto Trader and the RS Owners club mag, he should get £20k or so. Why such low mileage?

Any idea how much he paid for it and when he bought it?

Ash Black was a standard colour. All the brouchures? They will be worth a moderate sum if in good condition.

Please keep the car standard m8

If you feel that you must play with it, do it properly!

Big brakes/serious engine work are a must along side piccies

decisions, decisions...
It'll stay standard for the first few months, unless stuff actually needs replacing (e.g. brakes).
