Drag racing for proper Northerners
Discussion
or maybe a good opportunity for our Scottish neighbours.
There is a 2 day drag race RWYB event (racewars) at Kirkbride airfiled (North Cumbria) this weekend 4th and 5th.
I have a christening to attend on the Sunday but will be there on Saturday.
Be good to see a few more TVRs come along.

Rats! Am busy with mum and dad's golden wedding celebrations this weekend, otherwise would have been there again with the Griff (ran it there in 2012 just after I'd bought it )
Great value motorsport, so long as your car holds together
Used to compete in single venue stage rallies at Kirkbride many moons ago - despite it being a very large flat airfield I still msnaged to hit a big sanstone gatepost in my Mk2 Escort, happy days
Best of luck Derek, I'll pass the word to the North Cumbria TVRCC guys and hopefully they'll be along to support you

Too late in the year for me road tax is up and it is off the road till spring now.
Poor excuse. My road tax is up to. Gonna sort it especially.
Should be a good meeting. Weather looks like it will behave enough

I know also my love for Tvr is not that fussed after this year, I did close to my 5k insurance limit and did LMC and a tour of north France. Still Meh! Is how I feel, 8 years with tvrs now and I pick my little mini over it to use, only 45bhp but I love it. Wont sell the Cerb as I have put so much in to it, but need some time apart from it I think.
Thats a shame. I know how they can get you down at times when things go wrong. You will soon miss that raw power tho.

Out of the 3 TVRs I have had the Tuscan was the quickest but the cerbera is not much off it but still my little mini is giving me the grin factor the most just now, very strange

The thing is it has been running very well only 1 thing to fix for next year a oil pressure switch. The power thing is not really there either, I think I am the broken one with cars in general just now, spent more time playing with my wee speed boat this year the Tvr.

Cheers Martin, would be good to see a few TVRs come along.Martin
I am just going for a bit of fun. This is a new event to me so interested to see how it goes.
Kirkbride is an active airfield and has a few drag type meets a year. No dedicated and certainly not prepped startline and track makes for some interesting results. Dragcars on slicks can struggle.
I ran 11.9 there a couple years ago so i am aiming for a mid 11 on Saturday.
Just keeping an eye on the weather. As long as its not forecast constant torrential rain then i will be there.

Where are you Sandy? My guess at your profile pic is Balmaha?
Spot on mate. Give us a look up next time.!scotty_d said:
Will do Sandy been there twice in fact in recent times took the mini for a run then had a nice walk and some lunch, and came for a look in the "binliner" when it was in the water 2sundays ago. Never really been on loch Lomond before but loving it.
Binliner...oh no!I still pine for my old Mastercraft. 5.7 litres of grunt. In fact I have rose tinted memories of water skiing behind it on Loch Lomond.
Don't lose the love for Cerbie.
Binliner is not so bad a nice cheap out board 2 stroke uses less than 30 quid for 2/3 days playing and still tows OK with its wee 50 on the back.
I was looking for a dory sports man but very little sell up here, most on the south coast, bought this from prosser! Or what ever he calls him self now lol. Plus its right on my trailer weight limit so works well.

Scotty, that Binliner looks great fun! - reminds me of my first Fletcher I had. Like you say easy to handle and trailer around. I am mildy jealous of lost times...
My Mastercraft used 20 gallons an hour on full throttle!
I used to have loads of fun on Windermere before the do gooders killed it off. Real shame. Enjoy Loch Lomond while you can!

Mastercraft are great boats I have boarded and skied behind one and a Malibu as well very impressive to pull you out the water. Shame about Windermere as well!My Mastercraft used 20 gallons an hour on full throttle!

I tend to use this on lochgoilhead as we have a chalet up there. Loch Lomond is only a hour from home when the boat is on the drivd , easy to hook up and go for a late evening play
