track day at snett

Mine depends on from where you are starting. So let's equal out the starting point.
Peter quotes £10-11k for the V8D 5.5. Plus installation.
It presumably will run on the 14CUX, but he is on Megasquirt so he can map out any worries.
Mine too will run on the 14 CUX, but for similar reasons you would probably opt to run it on a mappable ECU. Mine is on Emerald. We both run coil packs too, and bigger injectors, and in his case a twin throttle plenum.
My turbo, fully installed and including an intercooler, oil cooler, and turbo bleed valve would set you back £3,700 from a Eann Whalley. I still have some track day cooling issues to resolve, so we need to add a few hundred quid for that. It is fine on the road. And you would need to start down the turbo route with a stock engine in good condition, low compression, and probably a minimum overlap cam. My cam was £93.... plus fitting. But there is a cost implication there too. So call it £5,000 all in.

I myself and beastie are happy with our power outputs and God like driving skills. Beasties beating heart was built for the track by mr Rob Robertson, and although she only produces a mere 360bhp at 6k and 355lbft at 4.5k the power and torque curves are near perfectly aligned which, with a throttle response akin to the starship enterprise going from impulse power to warp speed results in a package that makes FI and bigger capacity cars appear to be going backwards. That's right. Backwards. I shall demonstrate this next year after the winter rebuild. Best you all get some practise.
Pah. 360 at the fly? 355 lb/ft? On a 5 litre ? Is that it? Gassing Station | General TVR Stuff & Gossip | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
