It's really happening! Just received my "Reveal Update" email asking me to provide my preferred attendance dates and times. Can't wait! Plus the image of my T350C was used on the inside cover of Sprint by TVR regarding their photographic archive. Maybe I have a chance?
I have always loved the colour of this car, fabulous. DonkeyApple said:
I wonder if there is an actual colour that doesn't look good on the T350 shape? Dark, light, lairy, subtle, reflex, metallic all seem to work, whereas it's more common for certain colour sets to fit better with most cars.
Seem to recall there was an initial reluctance from the factory to re-paint the T350 above in the colour selected by the owner. Malcster said:
Your T350 is a lovely colour - what is it?
Willfin is right, it is Vauxhall Space Green which was on a few Corsas back in 2003/4!Daggsy said:
The Pic of your car is on the August page of the TVRCC Tees Valley region calendar ....... unless I'm totally wrong.

There's a bit of a story to why and how it was changed from the original in my profile - herebullittmcqueen said:

Has anyone been allocated a date/time slot for the reveal yet?
Nope, but sooner would be better than later.Snakes said:

The Christmas email from Les said "We are therefore proposing more 'intimate' (if you'll forgive the phrase!) reveals over the weekends of 18/19th March and 25/26th March 2017, to be held at our design studio at Gordon Murray’s facility in Shalford, near to Guildford. (Click for here for location)"
On this topic, I am really concerned that with circa 500 deposit holders and their guests attending over the 4 days that there will be one jerk who just won't be able to resist taking a surreptitious photo/video and posting it online, despite having signed the confidentiality agreement. That would be a real shame and would be counter to the whole spirit and ethos of the way Les and his team have approached this incredible renaissance of our favourite marque. I hope I'm wrong. Maybe it's worth repeating his words..........
"The facility at GMD has some pretty tight restrictions in place (principally of course because there are various other manufacturers’ equally confidential projects under development on site), so there are a number of procedures in place which we need to adhere to...... We will forward visitor non-disclosure agreements for signature and return to us prior to the event. Sorry to be formal on this bit, but I’m sure you understand - and please, don't even think of trying to bend the rules or that you can sneak a mate in on the day - we have to ask that you respect both the letter and the spirit of the invitation."
I suppose there's not much, as individuals, we can do to stop it except, if we are attending a reveal session, to challenge/report anyone who we see trying to record something and/or if not attending to try to get any host of such material to take it down. What do others think?
I suppose, if I were not a deposit-holder and, therefore, would not be getting to see the initial design iteration I'd be gagging to see a spy shot but it just seems wrong to disregard TVR's request.

As regards the deposit only reveal charade, it's a risk they run. The should expect photographs on PH, Facebook etc.
The other way to do it of course, is just reveal the thing publically when you're ready instead of all the cloak and dagger nonsense?

Yep, patience pays off. I´ve received the mail in the meantime, looks good. Not sure though, which session i would like to attend. I am not that flexible as i am travelling from Germany. Jurgen Schmidt said:

And you can stand easy, I've not knowingly spoiled Christmas for any children and hopefully Les and co wont do the same (metaphorically speaking)

If their going to do TVR properly then the first iteration never looks like the final product anyway!

And with iStream, they probably won't be able to get away with using the standard British car industry line, "It's hand built, Sir, so no two are exactly the same." TVRMs said:

I was under the impression that plenty of major manufacturers hold customer clinics prior to "fixing" the design. Maybe you know more than me? The other way to do it of course, is just reveal the thing publically when you're ready instead of all the cloak and dagger nonsense?
Clive,
After close to 40 years of ownership, it's difficult not to be interested in some way. Am I excited, sadly not.
I'm probably best described as intrigued.
Are design reviews held with customers by other manufacturers? I don't know, but trying to design anything by committee is fraught with problems.
I continue to be...intrigued...

next thing I will hear is that TVRMs has experienced numerous years of TVR ownership including NEW Models and may well have owned all TVR models over the years .... OH and raced, timed trailed and hill climbed as well
I stand to be corrected.
We all want TVR to succeed its just some have a longer history with the marque that others ..... our ownership only goes back to 1982.
I CAN ONLY WISH GOOD LUCK TO LES AND THE NEW TVR TEAM !
Personally, I think that it is right that the people who lobbed their hard earned money at this venture should absolutely be the first to see it. In a corporate world obsessed by other priorities it's refreshing to see them put their first and bold customers firmly at the front of the queue and to seek their views ahead of us.
I agree with this /\ /\ /\ above from Donkeyapple.
I'm bloody well wetting myself with excitement, and its not far away.
I like the way the new car is being privately revealed, ( and strictly NO cameras - bks to Facebook !!)
Bring it on chaps.
I'm sure Clive will have plenty to talk about at the next local TVRCC meeting.....
