I've been in discussions with SJR, they are one of the only ones who'll deliver and install at our address..........Anyone else fitted and used the SJR one before I pass over my hard earned?
Thanks
Had mine fitted (model 2) by them recently. Very happy with their installation (no way was I going to do it on my own or with mates and to be honest, the instructions aren't great anyway!). I opted against the jacking beam as with the lift right up against the wall one side there's little liklihood of me doing much maintenance in the garage - it was really bought for storage. It's not bolted to floor. Thanks
Proper quart in a pint pot.

How safe do you feel reversing in without wiping out the mirrors? I'm in the process of ordering a Type 1 which is actually slightly narrower between posts leaving about 100mm either side as the mirrors pass the posts.
The doorway is actually slightly wider now than it was before as I've replaced "up and over" garage door with a roller one which sits in guides behind the front posts so I've gained around 3 inches in total (before there was prob 1.5in either side of wing mirrors so now there's at least 3!) I could drive it in forwards (or push it in) if the roof is off else it becomes close to impossible to get out of it against the garage wall! I'm so used to the car, it's not too bad to reverse it in except it not surprisingly fills the garage (and my son's room above it) with fumes - extractors etc still to be installed.edited - sorry, noticed you were worried about the width between posts rather than the doorway itself. That's not an issue (although as you say, the Model 1 is about 6cm narrower than the Model 2S that I have). However, both are wider than the garage entrance itself. The centre of the ramps is slightly offset from centre of the garage entrance due to the post against the right (as you look at picture) wall being slightly wider than the entrance brickwork

Depends upon distance from their base.
The guys are pretty experienced at installation, know where everything goes and in what order.
Type 1 is quite small, more for little classics, I went for a 3S which is 100mm wider. Best contact them, I was given a delivery date but the thing was held up in transit in the Suez Canal and other places. Problem with returning containers etc. apparently too.

Is this the one made in the netherlands ? What was cost delivered. Seems to be the only one i can find that is just less than 250cm wide which is my limit.
SJR/GEO (see my previous posts) M2S etc is 2.5m wide. Is your restriction based on actual doorway or the real width of the inside of the garage?cirks said:

ThanksIt's to sit in a cove at the back of my garage and width is 250cm wall to wall (theres a bit of wiggle room lower down if the baseplates of the legs are wider by an inch or so.

Yes, total cost was £3,700 delivered. It was the narrowest one I could find. It's a lot of money but cheaper in the long run then renting another or bigger unit. I put it together myself, wasn't difficult, just bloody heavy to move the pieces around.

Hi all. I'm just installing a Model 1 lift from SJR. I'm utterly confused as to how these brackets attach to the lift for the warning buzzer activation and the manual makes no mention of them I'm pretty sure. Can anyone who has 1 explain where they should be attached?
Also (and I'll email SJR for some advice too) I ordered a jacking beam and got this.
Given the utterly crap Chinglish I think it means fill the box with hyd oil and connect to an air line? Anyone else got one who can advise? I don't think much to the jacking beam TBH. It sits 10cm proud of the runways, and the rocker switch/pedal is a cm or so higher than that so might be close getting my cars (TVRs) on/off.
Did you work out how the limit switches attach ? . I'm sat here now scratching my head with the same two brackets in front of me Also (and I'll email SJR for some advice too) I ordered a jacking beam and got this.

I remember buying some Chinese, IC engines for radio control planes many years ago. The instructions, especially safety instructions, showing fingers in propellers were hysterical. By comparison. my two post lift which was supplied by Automotec , went together in about an hour. Full English instructions, even though it was made in China.

Had mine For about seven years now and hasn’t missed a beat even though it has done a huge amount of work , (number three son is a professional mechanic)
Hope yours is at least as reliable. They really are a boon for the home tinkerer.
