Dom, If you need a hand then post a time and date and i'm sure you'll have plenty of takers sweeping, sorting through stuff, painting etc.
Yep, go on Dom, post a date and we'll help.
Should we all muck in - then count me in for sure yes
Same here, and I'm local

Now I don't mean to go all H&S on everyone but if you are going to assist please make sure you wear protective clothing, this is not meant in nannying way, but from my memory there was a statement issued by the HSE about the dangers of handling certain types of plastic used in cars...I seem to remember for some strange reason master cylinder reservoirs.....that when burnt release dangerous toxins which can be absorbed into your blood if touched by bare skin.
I work at Ford and part of my department deals with Warranty Return engines, some of which have been fire damaged. The teardown guys are forbidden to touch them as engine oil and certain plastics are HIGHLY carcinogenic once subjected to an U.T.E.(*)

This is not to be understated!

* - Unscheduled Thermal Event. Ford Engineer speak for a fire...rolleyes

BTW - Really sorry to hear about this - not least for Dom and the guys or those who have lost their P&J. Can't imagine how this must feel... frown

I do the electrical installation work for Paul at Austec, and if you need my services I will be only too glad to help.

So sorry to hear about this Dom. Glad you and your chaps are ok and count me and Pete in if you need a couple of pairs of hands to help with getting back up and running on a weekend. I am mean with a paint roller!

Really sorry to hear about this, its every business owners worst nightmare. Also gutting for the owners of the cars that were damaged and destroyed. Saw Rich's Griff on the IOM trip and it really was lovely. frown

Think the biggest risk from fire damaged vehicles etc is from any burned Viton (o rings typically)

Just spoke to Dom - he's devastated that he's not been able to reach all the customers that are affected by today's sad events.

As has been stated before, systems and files are down which has made it difficult for him to contact people.

Dom's managed to get hold of most people, there's just two outstanding:

John Snowdon
David Aldfried

If either of you are on here and see this, please PM me with a contact number and I'll pass this onto Dom.

If anyone else out there has a car at Power and hasn't been contacted by Dom - again, PM me a name and contact number.

Dom hasn't been able to get on here yet so hasn't seen the kind words and offers of help. He was genuinely touched and might well take us up on helping get things tidied up - he'll let us know as soon as he knows more.

Thank god it happened at that time of night so the risk to human life was minimal, remembering that the Fire Brigade are highly trained professionals.

It is great to see all the offers of assistance & I am sure Dom, after he has recovered from the initial shock of what has happened, will be humbled by it all.

Perhaps somebody who would have had training in this area could qualify this i.e. Fire Brigade

All the best with a speedy recovery of the business thumbup

The only safe way is to divide the site up and assess each area (Risk Assessment), identify the hazards and and produce a "safe System of work" for each area or task (method statement) Control measures should reduce the risk, PPE should be considered last!
If in doubt either bag small items, or cordon off and call in a specialist company to carry out the disposal who have the facility to test.
Remember when using detergents etc follow the COSHH advice on the containers. If you need any further help call or mail me via my web site.

so one of the cars which had been droped off caused the fire?

the car was brought in the garage for this electric problem and the garage already did some work on it?

Hollowpockets (graham davidson) on here has his car down there just now. He is on holiday just now so not sure if dom will have managed to get in touch with him.

Worst thing is it's for sale and i think one of my other pals has just bought it off him. Hope it's not damaged as it has just had some serious money spent on it in the last few months.

If anybody has any news pm me and i will try and contact him or give you details for him.

Hoping that the whole team over there can get back to full "Power" asap, the TVR community is not complete without you guys.
Wish you the all best for the future, and remember: the only way to deal with something like this is to come back with a vengeance.
